While I'm all in favour of slagging off Masters, didn't they need 14 clubs to vote for all of these rules?
-
Mad way to treat a young player.
-
He's a pure class act. Also well done to whoever gave him a lift home from Metrocentre.
-
Actually a really interesting interview, despite the bloke asking the questions.
-
Nice, get a celebratory goal against Chelsea.
-
True but not sure I would say it papered over cracks when everyone saw the cracks and talked about them constantly
-
That’s why I like Hall so much. FWIW I don’t see why Tino won’t be very effective for us. As we know the new RW will be a big step forward.
-
I think it was Burnley with Pope where they deliberately allowed a lot of shots from distance between the two CBs because it was so unlikely to lead to a goal.
-
Guess the interior fitting can happen really quickly once electrics and all that are done. Surprised still, it looked a wreck last time I looked.
-
We actually have decent CB depth, 5 for 2 positions. It’s just two are injured.
-
We have so many debates where we act like something doesn’t make sense when the explanation is fairly easy to see. Not that we always have to agree, but it’s weird to act like there’s somehow no reasoning behind it.
-
Yes but not very well and not as well as Hall. And we didn’t have Kelly when we signed Hall. Beggars belief that signing someone as talented as Hall is somehow bad. We can’t do anything right at the moment. The season has got off to a difficult start and we’ve all become emo about everything NUFC has done.
-
Aye I know, but at the same time I don’t see many tactical breakdowns of how a dedicated DM would work with our system and style of play. I’m sure there are merits to both approaches but Bruno is brilliant at what he does in that position.
-
Doesn’t seem that bad if Bruno is a top 6 and the others are best at 8. Actually it seems pretty good. Hall was a superb signing and both him and Tino were two of the countries highest-rated youngsters. I don’t get this line of thinking at all. If we didn’t have Hall we’d be desperate for a LB and if we didn’t have Tino we’d be playing Krafth at RB. Just enjoy our signings man. Because we haven’t solved every issue yet doesn’t mean we haven’t done some really good business. People really must have blocked out how shite our squad used to be.
-
Both of those fullbacks are playing every week at the moment. And it's only fans that are saying we want a DM because we think somehow standing a bloke in the middle of midfield will solve something. I need a break
-
We're definitely not adrift, if we'd finished a chance against Brighton we'd probably be 5th.
-
Murphy contributes just as much in terms of those numbers, but he also has plenty of moments where an attack breaks down because of him. Neither are great options but I’d say it’s at least worth some rotation. Miggy is limited but he’s not a disgraceful player or anything. And he arguably combines better with a fullback who can go down the outside.
-
Great watch.
-
I get all your points, we probably shouldn’t debate it all again
-
Long term yeah, but since the takeover I think the decisions are understandable. Miggy and Wilson actually probably didn’t help us by playing so well just at the point they might’ve been booted. That said though, if we’d signed a RW instead of Gordon we’d now be saying how bad our left side is and wondering why we didn’t fix it. It’ll take time to have quality in every position.
-
Yeah, we were very good but we also still have the propensity to make mistakes and look very tentative when things start going against us. Partly due to having some poor technical players involved, some with bad stamina and just a general lack of confidence I guess. But that will go away soon if keeping playing like we did in that game from the start. Sadly we now have 3 games which we are quite likely to lose, so we might have to just hold our nerves until Forest.
-
Yeah, personally I think the first half v Brighton was the best we’ve played all season and showed real changes in the attacking combinations etc. There were clear better patterns of attacking play on both sides, Gordon/Hall/Joelinton being particularly good. So it’s a weird time to be having the arguments about Howe not changing things and the midfield not being right etc.
-
I wouldn’t say it’s baffling, there are various reasons for signing Barnes. We were desperate for goals in the front line, we didn’t know Gordon would become the best LW in the country, probably others. Everything you say is right but I’m just saying the Barnes signing is understandable. RW seems like the priority position because we already filled the other ones and it’s the last outstanding weakness.
-
Miggy should play if we’re not prepared to move Gordon over. Murphy had his moments but also messes up so many good situations.
-
Seemed fairly clear he was in a win-win situation, probably why he didn’t force the move. Just wait and get a free transfer to someone with a bonus and double the wages. Easy.
