  1. I don't think many of our individual players deserve massively low marks TBH. It was that strange a game for me, I thought most of our team did OK but Jol outsmarted us tactically.
  2. In Shola's defence he was on a hiding to nothing today. We know that if we launch high balls towards Shola, and he's isolated, nothing good will come of it. Yet we kept doing it again and again.
  3. Love the guy, but he needs movement around him. The movement off the ball today was very poor in general. With HBA playing with Ba and Cisse we will be sexual to watch. I thought we could have used him on the left today to provide width - Fulham quickly realised that all our wide players needed to cut inside.
  4. Yep, it was very strange for us not to adapt when Johnson came on. He's exactly the kind of player thy always causes us problems.
  5. Not sure how to sum that up, bizarre afternoon. Obviously we should have murdered them by half time. If we'd had Ba and Cisse playing we'd probably have hit them for about 6. At times Shola and Best look unbelievably poor. Only saw the penalties in real time but they looked soft. On the down side, our tactics in the second half. Obviously we were shell shocked by the goals, but chipping aimless balls towards Shola and Best is never going to result in goals. It's just pointless. Also, the issue of width. You could see the Fulham players telling eachother to play narrow and pack the middle of the pitch because all we could do was play through the centre. We had two wingers and one fullback plying on their wrong foot, making us much easier to contain. Surprised Pards didn't switch HBA to the left and bring Obertan on. Overall I though a draw or a narrow win to us would have reflected the play. May never go to Fulham again, it's always, always shit.
  6. It's a big achievement if we can win a Premier League game with the central midfield that might be available tomorrow.
  7. Its irrelevent when comparing Chris Hughton's time here as manager and Pardew's, given that's what we are talking about. Sam Allardyce pisses all over the pair of them with what he's achieved but Hughton and Pardew's time here pisses all over his. Ah right, sorry, thought we were talking about who was the better manager.
  8. Everyone rates Hughton man HTT.
  9. Why doesn't Pardew's previous career count towards how good a manager he is? Surely it's essential to judgement of him?
  10. I never said anything about hailing Mike Ashley, I was just talking about giving him some credit for the good stuff we have been doing recently.
  11. Why hold onto hatred for people who have made mistakes in the past though? The history of Newcastle is full of people who have fucked up. Aye, they might make mistakes again in the future but at the moment the signs are that they have learned how to run a football club quite well.
  12. Think is, the media don't really have any reason not to use the new name, other that it might wind us up. And they may or may not care about that.
  13. It's amazing how well some of the recent player sales have gone... Nolan is invisible in the Championship, Carroll is bombing and Barton is acting like a nob. Don't miss any of them.
  14. Can't wait to go to a game in that new ground, should be class.
  15. Take action over him responding to his ex managers comments who they themselves have just sacked? Yes, he's their captain and shouldn't be acting like a spoilt child in public.
  16. This is now the main debate on TalkSport. Joey is a total fool, would like to see QPR take some action over this.
  17. I find it a little funny the fee was only £6-7m. Didn't Bolton call Arsenal's £5m offer "derisory" or something, only a few months ago?! He's worth about that, though! I mean, is the availability of CBs so dire that Cahill is the answer for a team like Chelsea? Or am I severally underrating Cahill? He's decent, but that's all. I think he's massively overrated as well, but then so is pretty much any English CB who doesn't make a goal-causing mistake every game.
  18. Every player leaves eventually, but why are you so sure it'll be this year or next? At the end of the day, the top 4 teams only need one Tiote-type player, some don't even want that.
  19. This is the main thing for me, it's now looking like Ashley might actually be prepared to help improve the team and the club, which is a world away from what most people thought a year ago.
  20. Think we got a good price (for a fullback) for Enrique really, considering the situation. Obviously he's worth a lot more, but his contract situation was the killer.
  21. The Eight Bells is a common destination IIRC. Too packed for my tastes, but good.
  22. If he wants to stay I'm fairly confident the club will make it happen. The issue for me is more if he fancies one more big move in his career, and to someone like Man Utd or Chelsea.
  23. Do you work in the borough of Hammersmith and Fulham?
  24. I hope he doesn't sign while I'm wearing good trousers, because I will jizz myself.
