Presume it's just recording background noise at the moment, and the broadcast proper will start soon. -

Shit, do I have to stay up and listen? I think I might you know. -
That's absolute madness though. One defeat after a very respectable most-of-season in charge last year? No wonder people think Newcastle fans are unrealistic. Unrealistic not to lose to sunderland, where they've beaten us once in, what, 30 years? Are you fucking kidding me? Are you deliberately missing the point or what? I'm not saying we shouldn't beat them, obviously we should. What I'm saying is that Pardew shouldn't come under pressure if we lose. It's the second game of the season FFS. If he loses against opposition that his predecessor gave the arse-kicking of a lifetime less than a year ago, then of course he should be under pressure! You're the one who's convinced that we've got a better squad now than then, with that in mind, how is there any excuse in the world for losing that match? Mate, you're just making yourself look more moronic here. To say a manager should come under pressure after one defeat in the second game of a new season is absolute lunacy, no matter what the squad is like or who the opposition is. (BTW, I don't know if we have a better squad now than then. I've never said that, I just think we've made some decent signings and I hope we have.)

Is he drunk, or just special?

Howay man Jose, sign on the dotted line, you know it makes sense. On the contract offered by us I mean.

Well we'll see, but absolutely crazy if true. In my experience if he wins two out of the following three he'll be fine.

I doubt it, most people think he's done a decent job. Most people don't consider this enough. They've got 1 eye on Big Mike and us (the fans). Fair point I suppose, I guess people might buy into the fact the we're always sacking managers.

You might be right, Lita was the one I was more surprised about TBH.
-
I always think they know nothing, so yes. But the noises from the club about this deal are encouraging a bit I suppose.
-
BBS reporting that Swansea are after Lita and Emnes from Boro. Very strange.
-
Where does it say he has signed? I would be in favour of hijacking that like, £5m for Long is a decent price. Same here. I would rather have Erdinc but I don't want to lose out on both and end up with the likes of Defoe. While he's been a class player in his time he looks like the wrong sort for this club. Don't know if he has an attitude problem but he lacks consistency for a player with his talent. You would have thought a player of Long's potential and age would be right up our street at the moment.
-
Think it's a bit soon to say he's going to be constantly targeted or injured regularly. He was murdered by De Jong and caught be a clumsy lower league player taking a friendly too seriously. Beyond that let's wait and see, I'm sure he'll be fine playing in the majority of games when he's back and surrounded by the rest of the first team.

Christ almighty.

Nicely handled by Pards by the sounds of it. He also seems to understand twitter, which is more than a lot of football people.
-
Young?
-
The concept, however? Well in the abstract it sounds unlikely, but I don't think it's that crazy when looked at in reality. And the man he replaced had even less experience of success. Not that I'm dissing Hughton, I liked him, just pointing it out.
-
Nobody is arguing with that.

He is a good player. He'll complement Ba and the midfielders we have in our squad. At the moment, it's not the most exciting partnership in the world, but it has the potential to be an effective one. Pleased to hear that. Hope we can tie this one up soon, would give everyone a boost.
-
It's not that amazing though, is it? It's just a slightly unlikely move - not even that strange when you consider that he's likely to get on well with our owner.

That's not the same as being paid for the action of reducing the wage bill though. That's being rewarded for operating successfully based on a wage bill someone else has defined. Not that it really matters.
