  1. They aren't designed to kill people though, are they? TBF I didn't realise the difference in power was that great, it's pretty impressive. I don't play Airsoft very often.
  2. Interesting. I used to play Airsoft a bit and have been shot in the face with fully-automatic air weapons, but obviously was wearing the proper eye protection. I can confirm that it hurts, especially if one catches you on the top lip.

It'll take as long as it takes, we all got excited about a quick return but a few minutes here and there followed by a full pre-season would be fine by me. We're lucky that we're in a position not to need him back to save us from relegation.
  4. So do you believe we won't spend any money in the summer?
  5. Think there's been far more people attacking these 'Keegan haters' than there has been people actually attacking Keegan in this thread.
  6. Don't know about Forster, he might be ready. How is he doing at Celtic?
  7. I suppose nobody who is in debt to their owner is in danger, as long as the owner is around and prepared to fund the losses personally.
  8. I used to love watching Kaka, he had an elegance to his play that was unique even amongst the likes of Ronaldinho and Messi. Haven't seen him for ages mind.
  9. you could take put a higher mortgage on it if there was equity on it, alternativly you could take out a mortgage on more favourable terms....like i have done several times. Yes, but also if you had a load of other debts and your financial position was constantly worsening, the bank would be unlikely to agree to any refinancing. you'd think so wouldn't you, however i've been doing a lot of reading on why the economy f***ed up with things like derivitives, SIV's, credit default swaps etc and the standard rules of credit seemed to have been thrown out of the window for a few years there. I also remember reading about portsmouth that they had been allowed to keep borrowing long after they should've been stopped. Bingo Monay managers got stupid and/or lazy and began to believe that the money pot would never get empty. Loans were being made and fees were charged and interest on those loans were expected with little to no thought of the loan ever being repaid. Imean if loan "A" couldn't be repaid, just make loan "B" to repay "A" and it's all good! In reality most of the financial ventures were little more than Ponzi schemes in their own right. That's what I meant in my post too, that nobody was considering that at some point the supply of easy/cheap credit would dry up.
  10. Ashley didn't really "listen to the fans", he more made a decision that he believed would be popular with them. And at the time it generally was.
  11. We just used to spunk money on forwards and try to solve the famous NUFC defensive problems by buying £10m CBs, who also turned out to be shit. Our midfield offering no protection to the defense and no support to the attack has been a problem for ages, particularly the defensive aspect. Really pleased it is working better now.
  12. I don't think it was unrealistic to expect more from him. It also isn't accurate to portray this as any other club/manager situation. Especially when Keegan himself was the first one to always go on about how special the circumstances were. True, Keegan was supposed be a unique case, so was Andy Carroll. We're finding out there are really very few special cases in football. Saying that, I have sympathy for KK as I've also been in a job where I was prevented from doing my job properly and forced out. Its the most frustrating thing in the world.
  13. I don't really blame Keegan for much, Ashley shouldn't have hired him. It's obvious that a man and a manager like KK wouldn't fit in with the Ashley regime. Keegan just stumbled into the monumental crossfire of shit that was NUFC at the time. I still would prefer him to keep quiet now though. I have a greater loyalty to NUFC as a club than I do to any player or manager, so it still annoys me when people criticise them in public. Overall I think he's exaggerating for effect in saying Pardew won't see a penny of it... he must know that it's likely we'll spend a bit of money. Guess he might mean that Pardew won't have the final say on how it's spent, which I guess is probably true.
  14. Nolan has 'won me over' as well, in that although I agree with Kaka that his mobility is embarrassing, I accept that he's one part of our well-functioning midfield and there's no real reason to drop him. Still think that picture changes when Tiote isn't playing, but obviously it's not realistic to expect Nolan to be dropped every time Tiote is out.
  15. Are referees not allowed to make mistakes at all?
  16. I hope he's wrong. I believe he is as well, I can't believe Pardew won't be able to spend some money in the summer, it would be a catastrophic move in a PR and footballing sense. Obviously that doesn't entirely rule it out mind.
  17. The FA claim this as being "mistaken identity" cases only, but that is the specific wording so in reality, they could overrule any decision they state to be an "obvious error" if they wanted to. Seems incredibly ridiculous if that is one of the main reasons the Disciplinary Committee exists and they're choosing to shy away from it.
  18. Well spotted JH, surely the Rooney incident would fall under that section?
  19. Fucking hell man, that's some serious shit. Did you ever report it and/or get the bastard.
  20. He hasn't lied to FA, he said that he took appropriate action based on what he saw at the time. I don't think he's allowed to say "based on what I've since seen on TV I've changed my mind" is he? I thought the appropriate action thing was based on what he thought he saw at the time. Yes, then The FA can judge whether the action was appropriate with the help of TV replays, with the advice of the referee I believe. The fact that he told The FA today that he felt he took the appropriate actions says to me that was some kind of review. I don't think the FA decide whether the action was appropriate, I thought that was down to the referee to decide, based on what he thought at the time? If not then sorry, I honestly don't know the letter of the law.
  21. Yeah, this is the real factor that has messed up the whole process. If Clattenberg hadn't given the free kick Rooney would now be facing a ban. (Although, it's not impossible that a referee could see an incident and incorrectly judge it to be a lesser offence than it really is. You would still need video replays for those situations, and a way to trigger a review.)
  22. He hasn't lied to FA, he said that he took appropriate action based on what he saw at the time. I don't think he's allowed to say "based on what I've since seen on TV I've changed my mind" is he? I thought the appropriate action thing was based on what he thought he saw at the time.
  23. He's a brilliant player though. Watching him you can almost forget his personality.
