Can’t believe we’re risking the long term financial future of the club like this.
-
Yes, the NUFC school of we’ve run out of midfielders.
-
If you mean the club, I don’t think they ever had the idea.
-
But if the game is in any way open or dynamic, Shelvey would just get walked past anyway.
-
Guess it just feels worse when the stadium is so poor and you’re sat looking at empty stands. I’ve spent similar money at other National League teams and not really worried about it too much. They have character and nice match-going experience. And everything else in life was much cheaper of course.

If it’s that easy to spread the cost of big signings you would think you could do it without selling players. Surely FFP has to be more sophisticated than selling 30m allows you to spend 150m? I am by no means an accountant

Wish Gateshead wasn't so expensive. I know they have to keep the lights on, but £20 is a bit pricey given it's a genuinely awful place to watch football and the place is dropping to bits.

Q&A with who?
-
Edwards is an absolute weapon.
-
Well he’s been significantly better than both, so I’d take 75.
-
I love the random quoting of ages in transfer chat. He's 27, means he only has about 8 years left as a top player?
-
Wouldn't let him go to Saudi for less than that.
-
You're assuming we're buying a CM though? We might be.
-
I think the difference is that Shelvey was effectively useless so it didn't make much difference if he was in the squad or not. Whereas Miggy is a key part of the starting lineup at the moment.
-
Yeah, but can you fine the right signings to come in right now?
-
Barnes is off a long-term injury, usually plays on the left and Murphy is not a PL player.
-
He should be becoming a crucial squad player, not being sold.
-
Just strikes me that making 'strategic' sales can't be combined with making risky, short-term signings. That's not coherent, so unless you can make the right signings you have to wait.
-
Do we think that the club is writing off this season and will just keep the money for the summer? I can't see enough good replacements being available in Jan if we lose 3-4 starters. Losing the whole right side of the team is a particular weird one if Miggy and Trippier both go.
-
Absolutely mental week coming up unless we are just offloading, writing off the season and keeping the money for the summer.
-
Very confused by Darwin, he’s quite likeable and I despise everything to do with Liverpool.
-
Konate is top quality now, has to be in the conversation for best CB in the league.
-
Hate to see Jota doing well, weird little diving twat.

As someone who doesn’t follow the details and doesn’t have Twitter etc, it feels like one interview followed by some random rumours and one rejected transfer approach. Combined with some bad form. But I don’t know, maybe it will turn out to be an issue.
