There’s no way he’s unhappy. Of course he would rather be in the CL but surely he knows that we had an impossible group and were robbed by a decision. People don’t just leave clubs based on the league table and nowt else. Of course anyone can be sold at any time, I won’t deny that.
-
Of course he’s looking to move? What are you on about? He came when we were battling relegation, I’m not sure how fast he expected us to become a major European force. Wish we could ever enjoy having a good player.

I don’t think this makes any sense, but it’s snappy -

Next time we buy someone definitely don't have him banned for year or injured. -

But I don’t get what that means for right now. I’m saying that this season has been crippled and we have to understand that. Whether you want to label it a failure is up to you, each person can make their own decision. For me that’s meaningless unless it says something about our general progress, which IMO it really doesn’t. -
I’m always a bit cautious about calling for adaptability or changing tactics drastically. The more important thing is to have a clear way of playing that everyone understands and every level of the club is on board with. There might be setbacks as we’re seeing now, but the vision and striving for it is what gives you clarity and consistency from top to bottom. Of course there has to be tweaks to deal with different opponents etc, but I’m not sure I want my manager to chuck his approach in the bin because we have injuries. He’s been developing his view on football for decades.

Whatever we do this season is a bonus for me TBH, it really should be a write off with the amount of injuries we’ve had and the way the fixtures at various key moments have landed. I think I’m about 5 seasons away from having any kind of expectations for what we ‘should’ be doing -

Well yeah, but if we can fall we can climb back up. -
The way this guy on 5 Live pronounces Ben-tan-coo-a is class.
-
I guess it’s from Howe but I’m not sure.
-
Feels like we’re already turning the corner to me, we’ll be back on track soon.
-
That’s not true though, we clearly moved the 3 CMs narrower in the second half. I think people sometimes forget that pretty much every goal is scored because of a space somewhere.
-
Not sure about that, in fact you could argue that the midfield going so narrow was explicitly to stop the balls that were getting through in the first half. Man marking KDB is an option I guess, but then what about the other spaces from taking a man out of your normal system. I just don’t think think having a DM on the pitch is the silver bullet everyone goes on about.

Weirdly I was very positive after the game yesterday. We’re getting back to what we should be doing. We lost because they’re Man City and have the best midfielder in the world on the bench, fair enough. But lots of positives to take overall.
-
Well, I can see what Almiron brings, despite his short comings. Not so much with Sean.
-
He’s always been basically crap, we may as well admit it.

I try to judge each post on its own merits

Dump them in the forest maybe.
-
It’s a write off if we don’t sign at least one CM who is ready to come straight in.
-
Hope needs to change his name.

I'm saving all my money just to get head-to-toe kit next season.

Well there's one good reason

Definitely don't think we'll get Henderson Bringing in a Mackem from Saudi Arabia doesn't seem to be something that we will do.
