  1. Talking about frustrating...
  2. I don't really like to see any colour trim other than black and white - not on the home kit anyway.
  3. Must have stripes all the way down, that black bit at the top is weird.
  4. I'm going on Monday, so then would be nice. At the end of the day I'll be ecstatic either way.
  5. Steven Carr looks much fitter and stronger this season BTW. I don't buy the idea that some people can never be fit, it's all about hard work. Look at Enrique, he's a big lad but he's worked hard to get into shape.
  6. Good squad management by Hughts and Woody as well, not a coincidence that we ended up with our strongest side out in one of our trickiest games.
  7. We just struggled to make breakthroughs, we dominated possession even at the start.
  8. This. This, except I'm not going til Monday!
  9. That's literally terrifying. I can't believe he wasn't rated in the early days, he's always been one of our better players IMO.
  10. The post-match suit was what did it for me! He might be planning to gradually introduce it so he can start wearing it during games! How long is it since we had a manager and a set of players we could actually like BTW? Owner apart, this is the best group for a while.
  11. I was told it was something to do with sponsorship (or the lack of it when no shirt is on show). I didn't believe it at first but given the way the authorities conduct themselves during a World Cup it wouldn't surprise me. I always assumed it was something to do with time wasting.
  12. Heard it all before, don't give a fuck what any other fans think. Aye, some of our fans are a bit much with their faith in local managers etc, bit that's just the inevitable side effect of do much passion. I love Newcastle, Forest fans can think what they want.
  13. I'm going to the gym tomorrow like.
  14. My mate called him 'the best left back in the world'! Think he needs a couple of years for that.
  15. I didn't really notice Nolan tonight, which is positive as I usually notice how awful he's playing.
  16. He's probably still going to make it, but a footballer's career is short - he should have moved while his stock was high IMO.
  17. Very true, the spirit seems robust and a defeat doesn't cause a collapse. That will be really tested next season, but the signs are good.
  18. When it's not working for him he just tries the same things harder. In some ways you could say that's a weakness, because sometimes he needs to just give some passes and ease himself back into the game.
  19. I want us to clinch in next Monday, cos I'm going! They better not do it before then.
  20. Er... he did bring Barton on. I noticed this as well some of the passing once Barton was on was shocking & just shows up all those people who thought the football we play would improve on Bartons return. Anyone who missed Barton when he came & how the game changed the game is going to be shown again on SKY at 01:45am. You can't be serious, he only played about a nanosecond.
  21. Yeah, the players were so happy when they scored, particularly Enrique. I remember seeing the likes of Owen and Viduka going off after a defeat last season absolutely not giving a fuck. Some of those days turn the stomach when you think about it. The challenge will be keeping them together when we start getting regular beatings. I think Hughton deserves a chance to have a go at it.
  22. I'm amazed by how consistently we've picked up points this season. Whether it's down to poor opposition I don't know, but the team spirit and work ethic are something to be proud of.
  23. Looked like a really frustrating night tonight, until Shola produced his bit of magic. For all his faults, he obviously has realised he needs to get plenty of shots in when he gets half chances.
