  1. On the other hand we were winning comfortably before he came on, and when he came on he scored twice. Could go either way! He came on when it was 0-0, with the rest of the players. Oh, I thought it was later, forget I said anything!
  2. Where you sitting? It's a lovely ground. Not sure exactly, on one side at the back where it's cheaper. They have £50 tickets, it's mental! I only paid £25. I've been to Craven Cottage a few times, but always in the bizarre Putney End, the neutral stand. Thought I'd pop along since there's no chance to see a Newcastle away game there at the moment. I considered QPR but their tickets were £30 as well... ludicrous.
  3. I'm going to Fulham v Burnley tonight, should be a feast of football!

  5. I would be tempted to go with Best from the start again, and give him a chance to nick a goal to get him started.
  6. I know, it's crazy What is it? Like 5 mornings of training a week, followed by a 90 minute appearance (if you're lucky)? All that for thosands a week Yeah, there's a lot of shit that goes along with being a footballer as well I suppose - but day-to-day it must be brilliant. If you keep your head down and out of the press the lifestyle must be fantastic.
  7. When I see the training photos I always think how mint it would be to be a footballer. To do that as a job is mental.
  8. When I popped out of my mother's birth canal. I actually wasn't that into football when I was really little, I was a bit fat and clumsy so I played Rugby instead. I went to my first game at SJP with my Dad when I was about 7, and I fell asleep! I properly got into football later, about aged 12 probably.
  9. We should do the business tonight, hopefully they've realised that if they just set up in a 442 and get on with the job of attacking then they can take most teams apart.
  10. I wouldn't argue against that. As much as I want him available for us, getting his head sorted now might be good for his career in the long term.
  11. Just attacking is a start, counter-attacking can come later!
  12. Hopefully that will come, he's still pretty young. I would recommend muscles rather than fat!
  13. A severe ticking off? Don't know the details but sounds like something and nothing TBH. I know footballers should be more careful, but I wonder if they also attract harsher treatment from the police and CPS.
  14. Whatever the rights and wrongs, the quotes from Capello and the statement from Terry suggest that they've handled this sensibly and the decision has been accepted. Good news.
  15. To be honest it seems it's got to be Rooney. Even he has a private life indiscrection. Who are the players in the team who haven't shagged or punched someone they shouldn't have?
  16. Interesting decision this, Capello's whole philosophy is that nobody is bigger than the team. If Terry remains in the squad I can't see us being affected at all though, so it's not a high-risk move.
  17. Rio missed the drugs test, he didn't fail it. [/devilsadvocate]
  18. Alreet, alreet. Not saying he's going to be good, it's just good to hear these things.
  19. If nothing else, it's great to have a player who thinks it's a step up to join us, and wants to raise his game to play here. Better than our usual signings of hasbeens from better clubs.
  20. Yeah, but that's also true of a pot plant. even just the pot. To be fair, I'd put Guthrie and Smith in ahead of the pot, and the other two behind.
  21. I think he might unleash The Be(a)st from the start, hope he doesn't get 15 pathetic minutes like most of Hughton's subs.

    Wasted Talent

Being an athlete isn't a talent though, anyone can achieve physical fitness through hard work. As Ronaldo says, he just couldn't be arsed.
