Portsmouth FC in yet more trouble - administration again?
AyeDubbleYoo replied to GG's topic in Football
Not sure how the idea of selling assets would square with the transfer window regulation. I doubt the right to sell assets is absolute and overrides any other rules... will be interesting to see how it's worked out. -
West Ham agree fee in region of £15m with Liverpool for Andy Carroll

I just don't like to see a lone striker at all in this division, there's no call for us to play that way. -

They'd have to sell people at maybe 25% of their full values at this point, everyone would know how desperate they were. Scary stuff for Pompey fans this, still can't believe they'll actually go out of business though. For some reason. -
Sir Chris Hughton... surely he had to wear a suit than. He should subtly smarten himself up like. He could wear shoes one week, then add smart trousers. Followed by a shirt the next week and finally a tie and jacket. He'd be in danger of making himself a credible manager!

Fair point actually. I did laugh though!

Fooled by this thread more than once?

Hughtinho. If he gets us up and keeps us up then I want him to get a knighthood.

Interesting snapshot of peoples' opinions of Butt.

Newcastle United Vs Preston North End - Saturday 20th Feb -3 pm KO

I prefer Tuesdays at 5.45, or whatever Everton has this week! Tickets in the bag, Leazes Corner, hell yeah. Just need to catch my 730 train at Kings X on Saturday morning. Booking that was an error. -
You bastard!

There's no requirement to let the defence get ready before taking a quick freekick. That's the whole point of it.
-
That was probably what swung the decision. Justice at last!
-
That's just the incentive we need TBH.

I expect a flood of fines for nearly every club in the Premier League now, especially the top four!! Well I don't, obviously.

Reading vs Newcastle United Pre Match Thread - 13/04/10 - 8pm

Is that what it costs for a refund if you don't travel? I was wondering about that. Is it £10 each way if it's 2 single tickets? The new date is 2 days after the FA cup semi, so in the unlikely event of Reading still being in the cup, would the game be moved again. Aye, £10 to refund a booking (for the whole return ticket). From London to Reading an advance ticket is around £15, so subtract the fee and it's hardly worth filling in the form. -

Going to this one, woop. Preston don't seem to having a good time, hopefully we can notch another few goals to build the momentum a bit. -
Also, we don't have any other decent options so he should get plenty of chance to play.
-
Sounds like he's having a cracking game tonight.
-
If he has 'rigorous self-analysis', then he should use it to assess his terrible fitness levels and get himself down the gym. Maybe hit the town a bit less as well.
-
It might actually give Nolan the kick he needs if he was dropped for a couple of games. He needs a wake-up call, no doubt.
-
I agree, not as a footballer though. He should consider a career as a doorman or something, he loves a night out. He could get tips from Mike Hooper.
-
There's too many motheruckers ucking with our shi.
-
Nothing about the way Nolan is playing is temporary. Unless he commits to a complete diet and fitness regime change, he'll never be a good player again.
-
One or both would be out the door at the first chance KK would get. Remember, he actually played Butt in every (?) game he was manager. Smith wasn't sold by Keegan because he was "a good guy to have around" iirc. But yes, Nolan would be out of the door pretty quick I could imagine. KK never really got the chance to sort a team out. Yeah right. Haven't thought about that actually. Wonder what "his" midfield would have looked like if he would have been given a chance to sort it out... his midfield would have looked like one that attacks with speed and purpose. He would have needed a lot of new players for that!
