  1. Let’s hope it was planned and not a complete change in strategy.
  2. Bit harsh on Fowler, it comes back to him very quickly at a weird angle. It's a miss but not all-time bad.
  3. Mixed feelings about Isak, I love him and his ceiling is unlimited, but he does need to work out how to consistently impact games. And stay fit. And we need to work out how to help him. I guess he would look unstoppable in a team that dominates possession and doesn’t require so much work. Obvs want us to keep and utilise him though.
  4. Yeah, they hadn’t even finished basic fit out, still had no finish on the walls, hanging cables and ducts etc.
  5. That’s true but SJP isn’t really visible from the nice parts of the city. Except Leazes Terrace.
  6. Still not, if anything it’ll just build the siege mentality.
  7. Pep was never, ever leaving Man City in the middle of a season to manage England. It was an insane idea.
  8. Goes without saying really, no manager is going to survive if he can’t work with the structure. But there are responsibilities on both sides to make it work.
  9. You’ve absolutely cracked this role, bravo.
  10. Yeah, tend to agree, I was sure he would get it until the Greece game. Maybe they never planned to go with him, or maybe they changed course, dunno. I would’ve appointed him straight after Southgate left TBH, no interim status needed. The fact they did that suggests one or both sides were unsure. Maybe he never wanted the job.
  11. Guess they don’t want to get tied in. It’s a weird appointment for me, but on the other hand a change in strategy is maybe warranted now Gareth has done his inoffensive brand rebuild job. Maybe now they want to be more ruthless and look for a big trophy win. Not that Tuchel seems particularly likely to win a trophy, but I can see why they might want to change the approach. Saying that, it would’ve been interesting if Carsley had done well since that’s the polar opposite approach. We’ll see I suppose.
  12. Les bleus are looking extremely strong, disappointed not to be one myself.
  13. He’s the best manager in the world apart from Pep? Or is nobody else a candidate?
  14. And do you now have a gambling addiction?
  15. They’re rich and don’t need the hassle of a club, I would guess. And they’re in some kind of career dip which rules them out of another top club.
  16. We were talking about which is the best strategy, and the merits of selling a big name versus two younger players.
  17. I assumed we were talking about taking an active decision to sell him.
  18. Well that wasn't my argument. For example, some people might prefer to keep Bruno, sell two young players and spend a bit less. It's not a no-brainer that selling our best players is the right way forward every time.
  19. I don't think we're overlooking that, we just have different views on what we would prefer.
  20. Not sure either of them qualify as wonderkids but I get the point.
  21. That would be awesome TBF Really it would be sensible for him to decide to stay away until they start doing well. But he might not live that long.
  22. While that's true, I'm sure he'd still be at the match even if he wasn't getting £2m a year. here's not really a way around it.
  23. Well the reality isn't so black and white, we've managed to comply without selling a star. It's odd if that is considered a negative. Admittedly the way we managed it was chaotic. Of course we need to buy some players and sell them on, but you could argue that's what Minteh was bought for.
  24. Has the feeling of a disastrous appointment, have to say. Even though I'm sure technically he's a good manager.
