I don't think the Howe v Mitchell thing has any value TBH. Even if we all love Howe, we still needed to establish a more well-developed and professional recruitment system within the club. I don't think it was ever about "only sign obscure young French players because Eddie wasted all the money". It's more about the fact we were running on a skeleton infrastructure.

Long term it won't be a problem, just concerned with how it might affect this summer. Otherwise I'm sure we'll sort it.

Haven't watched Delap anywhere near enough to know if he can step up to be a starting forward for a CL team. Big change in style from Jackson to Delap though, Jackson is just as much a link player as a goalscorer.

We learning how to be an elite team with an elite mindset, but we’re doing it without a full team of elite players. And plenty of unfit lads as well. When we’re a little bit nervy I guess we don’t always have the ability to just play our way out of it.

In some ways we’re the anti Chelsea. They have struggled with culture and structure but they just have such a higher number of good players that they made it anyway.
