Aye, I considered him but went for a useless Fulham lad. That said, I would’ve benched him as well. Left two clean sheets and an assist on the bench this week. That’s the game we’re in.

We need almost every player to be upgraded, so it's always going to be hard to prioritise. Letting Botman go somewhere else would've just meant needing another CB in the next window, he's a 10-year signing. Really we need a CM and a forward this window, two forwards if he can't play wide.

He's been great, he's unlucky that he was second choice signing and we then went back to get the first choice. Sadly Botman could be our talisman for the next 10 years, so he has to come in sooner rather than later. Wouldn't be surprised to see Burn get a fair few games still, between CB, LB and back three.

I think we can just about cope at CM (if Bruno doesn't get injured) but in the front 3 we are terrifyingly light. Even the starting players aren't really good enough.

It’s a really weird transition period to be in. A couple of CL players, a few PL players and some Championship. It’s going to be a mixed season and I’d expect us to be outplayed semi-regularly. But we’re moving in the right direction.
