  1. I think Howe agrees TBH, given he was happy to play Bruno there late last season. Also with CBs like Schar and Botman passing it forward, the CMs don’t need to come so deep to get it. IIRC we haven’t been linked to any pure DMs yet.
  2. I really want us to keep the ball more if we can. I don’t like watching my team seeking to just contain the opposition, I want us to keep the ball away from them and use it better ourselves. I doubt we’ll be going to a City-style tiki-taka, but I would like us to do more. Which I think we will with better players. Watching Botman and Schar passing it out from the back this afternoon was sexy as owt.
  3. The best solution right now would be to drop Shelvey and play Bruno deepest IMO. Sign someone else to play further forward.
  4. He would have had an input but I doubt he’s the main reason. I don’t get the impression that the owners would make such an important hire without a very rigorous process.
  5. Haaland will score untold amounts.
  6. It’s a moot point really, since anyone that set on buying an extra ticket for every game to sell (or whatever) would just buy a membership and would be in the same pool of buyers anyway.
  7. Not unless they want to give out a message to try and keep prices down. I doubt we have a fixed budget, we’ll have an idea of what we need and how far we can push it for the right player. I’m sure it we want to pay £50m for someone, we can. We can’t attract the superstars yet anyway, so it’s a bit of a pointless debate.
  8. I think once you have a ticket, there’s no really strong argument that you should be able to buy more. But then again, anyone could have bought a membership for £35 so I guess ST holders would just do that.
  9. Yeah, I mean that’s a fair argument that money should go more back to the fans etc. But still, you basically get an immense day of fun, passion and excitement for 30-odd quid. Not much is available for that which would inspire you or give you so much enjoyment.
  10. Maybe they are, just other deals were easier to do at an earlier time. Don’t necessarily work down your priority list like that.
  11. Its fantastic value for what you get (now).
  12. I think I’ll cry the first time I go back in.
  13. Would like someone like New Balance, bit interesting.
  14. We used to have print at home tickets, then I would just screenshot the barcode and put my phone in the reader at the gate. Nervy the first time I tried it
  15. Must be, the whole thing was obviously neglected/gutted by Mike Ashley. The website experience for buying tickets is archaic. At Man City you just get a QR code on your phone to scan at the turnstile.
  16. I know, I just wanted to know what number he got so we can get a sense of which number gives you a chance of getting a ticket.
  17. No I know, I just mean which random number will give you a chance of getting a ticket.
  18. Yeah, I guess it’s easy to overlook how much stress this causes as well. As someone said above, it’s a really difficult process for people to cope with.
  19. There’s no valid reason to reserve tickets for non-members, that’s just silly. I’ve been to Fulham, Arsenal, Man City and Spurs games where the only way to get in was a particular tier of membership. Sometimes even the basic membership wasn’t enough, like when Arsenal were good. I’ve wasted a lot of money on memberships, but I did get Man City socks.
  20. Did you join at 10am? What number if the queue were you? Might help us understand what chance we have in future.
  21. Yeah, the site in general is terrible, it can’t meet any accessibility standards. Particularly once tickets get scarce and it starts flashing up those ‘area locked’ messages at you. They need a whole new digital department, website and a new booking platform. If there’s anything we can do to help for the next game, maybe we can put together a guide or something.
