  1. But no promotion to the super league and nobody dropping out? It's not just about relegation, it would've created loads of meaningless games between teams who couldn't get relegated and teams who knew they were in the SL regardless of position.
  2. If you're going to start asking sensible questions about our recruitment and team selection, we'll be here a while.
  3. I'm a massive hypocrite about it, because I want to be able to follow my team in every game from London. Maybe regional blackouts are the answer... they have those in America but obviously the geographical areas are much larger. That said, I do sometimes go to Bromley when there's not a game on I want to watch. I would still do that in preference to Man City v Chelsea, but maybe not an NUFC game (if we were worth watching).
  4. I do agree that the players should get most of the money, the problem is clubs running themselves into big debt to pay more than they can really afford. As well as insane agent fees etc. TBF the top few in England seem to do a better job of most, but I'm not sure how much of that is just due to owners subsidising them.
  5. So he's the good guy, but he resigned? So it's even worse for Man Utd than before?
  6. I wish I had your brain for football details mate, I don’t remember shit
  7. I like all that stuff TBH, football merchandise should be better designed and stuff people want to wear because it looks cool. It isn't scratching the surface of its potential at the moment, you just have to look at how quickly things like that Nigeria shirt sold
  8. A cup to replace the league cup would be decent. From the PL teams' POV though, I'm not sure what advantage they would get by adding Scottish teams to the league.
  9. I, for one, am gutted that massive clubs won’t spend quite as much money as usual making themselves even better than everyone else.
  10. Has to be approaching the very top bracket in terms of time at an elite level combined with goal record. Ridiculous. It's weird how he doesn't get talked about in that very top group of players.
  11. It does makes sense to play more games between everyone IMO, even European teams. The geography is very possible. I think it would definitely be interesting to see more of those games happen for novelty value, even between smaller clubs. Although maybe I want it because supporting Newcastle is so boring. But I'm not sure how to do it without damaging the real competitions.
  12. I’m probably underestimating it since I’d never get a package. But just the concept of not being able to watch your own team is a bit crazy when it’s being broadcast everywhere across the world. I’m biased because I live in London so can’t attend many home games anyway.
  13. Also there are excellent illegal streaming sites for MLB. Usually I watch it illegally until they start to discount the official service, then I buy it for around $50 late in the season.
  14. You mean to attend the stadium? £40-£60 a game (ish) in Newcastle, that’s probably one of the cheaper clubs Spurs tickets run to £100+ Before Covid there was no way to watch all the games live, the 3pm Saturday games aren’t allowed on TV. To watch every PL game that was on you’d need a fairly premium Sky TV package plus additional BT Sport. I’ve never had it, but maybe £80+ per month? But that wouldn’t get you all of your own team’s games. Edit: Oh, and £7.99 for Amazon Prime as they have games now.
  15. I don’t care about anything except the live games. Maybe £20 a month, or £200 a season? MLB TV is something like $120 for the whole season, 160 games for every team including watching them all back on demand, highlights and abridged games. But local games are blacked out.
  16. Just for the fans, it seems like you need one affordable thing you can buy to watch your team. Needing a Sky package with loads of stuff you don’t watch, plus BT Sport is too much. And pre-covid you still wouldn’t be able to watch all the games. It’s pretty old fashioned and not very customer focused.
  17. Like when you watch an MLB game on MLB TV, the TV feed itself is coming from people like SNY in New York or whatever the other regional ones are called. There’s already a network of companies filming the games, not one large one like we have with Sky.
  18. BTW, does Netflix-style just mean it’s on the internet?
  19. The American sports have online platforms but they’re just using the feed from the traditional TV broadcasters. They don’t seem to have one monolithic broadcast like we do though, the state and cities have their own. It is amazing to be able to buy one pass for the whole league though, and obviously the quality of the app and service is much better than anything we have here.
  20. Preserved their owner's reputation as what? A ruthless oligarch that started the robbing of football?
  21. Lineker was being sarcastic apparently.
  22. Not sure about that, you have just as many people saying how ridiculous it is that Arsenal and Spurs were invited. Obviously the general point is right that the idea of any kind of big 6 is fundamentally stupid.
  23. I'm not sure the ODT is designed to solve anything, it's just designed to exclude the most obvious criminals. Or to make it look like the people who have been admitted can't be that obvious criminals.
