  2. Cheers I would want more than a striker now we have cashed in i guess funds will now be here in Jan should the team need it. I think unfortunately both can be true owners have buckled but still feel it's due to the player not liverpool. The money hasn't been the big golden carrot too good to turn down. Its the players behavior and whatever he said or promised/threatened to do has made the club rethink. Would have wanted more but what isak has done has been extreme.
  3. Leaning heavily into your ITK powers but you had any noise that anything else was close or possible? Hopefully good news in the morning with other clubs standing firm so far.
  4. Aye thats what i am thinking giving up some cough cough loyalty bonus to ensure it goes through
  5. Can only think if we dont hold/cave its off the back of what isak said in those final "secret " talks as it doesn't sound like the reason is a massive fee. If he's said he won't play after the window closes and will hold firm then we have a massive player gathering dust with every article or press conference constantly about him and the dynamic of the relationship. I dont want to lose this fight but he's well and truly stuck to his guns and burnt every bridge he can without putting in a transfer request. Hope it he moves he creaks into a nice acl injury.
  6. I think it will be a good window maybe 1 more player in possibly a loan with an obligation on top. I feel hopeful we have done good business but worried its enough as we seem to lack goals in the side and our "B"/rotation side looked so poor yesterday. Isak unfortunately that last secret meeting and Howe now publicly saying they aren't talking it doesn't sound like we will keep hold of Isak I also dont think it will be the financially beneficial to us either. I just hope we get good money and a replacement in as dont want to limp to January get embarrassed in the champions league and write off a season thanks to the lanky streak of piss. No gaurentees on the quality of who we have brought in working ( I know no signing is gaurenteed but no one brought in is a "banker" to do well).
  7. Option 2 in your scenario holds more or less weight depending on if the bid comes in and how much. Too much noise from Craig no Hope and Ben jacobs that 120 will be it and will be enough. Context around having 30ish million book value to remove from that and reported 10 or 15% sell on fee weakens the bid from a financial gain prospective for us. Obviously he may still refuse to integrate after the window closes and we have no fee and no player and the media circus that will follow with that till Jan so keeping him is also a risk.
  8. Cheers joys of pushing a trolley trying to read too. Saw that 115pm tweet posted from the doom sayer and thought it said talks on going for 120m bid.
  9. Sorry been out food shopping and cant keep up is Craig no hope and Ben jacobs saying bid is in and talks on and Edwards says no such talks or bid is in?

    Yoane Wissa

Fair price is what I would prefer to say to cheap. If they reportedly quoting 50/60m and we prepared to pay 30/40m I want a compromise somewhere here and for it to happen its going to have to be from both parties.

Knowing our luck they will want us to fund the majority of that fee to let wissa go
  12. Club have to prepare for that possibility definitely especially if the national side tell him keep his fitness up and he will still get selected
  13. Unfortunately he's now had his year loan scoring 14 prem goals since that package was agreed. Hes now a 1 in 3 striker in the prem which seems to be that 40/50/60m bracket especially this late in the window.
  14. I agree on all of that its not a hot prospect or winning the battle to a striker loads of our rivals wanted. Its a ready to go close to a proven hit as you can have kind of signing in the sense they here with prem experience, fit, ready to come, can improve still. Taking a gamble for 70 or 80m on the lad from Porto before his injury or ramos at psg or openda may have been a more exciting name but seen more of a gamble or risk. I can't wait for the window to close like most this window offered so much with finally able to spend but to be scratching around for clubs to do us a favour and let us have a striker seems a less so nice way to end the summer despite some good business incomings and outgoings getting done.
  15. Its more desperation at this point on Larsen but if I tell myself larsen is purely a Wilson upgrade/replacement its a great bit of business he's 6 or 7 years younger getting double figures is good enough to start a string of games if needed links up play and looks a unit. The fact it could be any form of softening blow to an isak exit is where it starts to sour. Fulham want 40+ for Muniz and wissa may end up costing 50m+ so while we are getting our pants pulled down here striker fees this summer have been high in general. Jackson i again am coming around to but Chelsea want no doubt a hefty loan fee and an obligation to buy inserting he's also off to afcon there must be a reason Eddie hasn't brought him higher up this magical list.
  16. I would like one still can't be hard to find someone with a bigger output than wilsons single goal last year. While isak may well be forced to stay and even if we got a good fee next year still shopping for 2 strikers next summer just sounds like a tall order even with 12 months prep.
  17. Simply based on Wilson being a shell of his former self all last season and knowing he wasn't going to sign on to another year by the time his contract expired end of June. 2 months later we find ourselves in a market where there is no time left and who we want is not surplus to requirements. Missing out on preferred choices when you cant offer the pull the wage or the fee is normal. None of this should come as a surprise to the club its one of the hardest positions on the pitch to get right. Doesn't mean they cant have a portion of the blame for it getting to this point.
  18. I agree and I dont have the brains for the finances to really debate it. However if one massive over spend means the club throw out the line we cant do business due to having no more PSR headway and it all stemmed from a poorly planned massive over spend on a player we would all be more than a little annoyed. I dont care about how much it is and dont have to worry about how its getting funded we also know the club will spend everything it can be allowed to. However still doesnt stop you keeping a little eye on things and I certainly find myself saying "well if we spend it here and we have an injury or an issue with a player will there be anymore in the kitty to go sort it" or " who will have to be sold next year if this goes tits up and we need to balance the books" Depressing but due to our level of income its a fact of life while any form of rules are in place. Also to factor in this has been a big outlay summer but still quite a few older players and running out of contract players to sort next summer it never ends really.
  19. Minus whatever the loan fee was did they really just pay £23m for him in the summer? Wow I know its late in the window and issues of who comes in to replace him but 37m profit is crazy. Its lloyd Kelly level good business.
  20. not sure why both thoughts cannot exist together. Forgetting about the cartel, you would hope regardless of Isak a pot of money was set aside from any transfer budget we had this summer on a wilson replacement, cheap options havent happened so this may have changed our thoughts especially this late in the window. However like it or not we dont have the income of others and most of our players need to land in terms of success we cant do a Manu and have a player fail and just replace them, if the 55/60/65m doesnt work it will screw us for multiple windows so does have a major risk attached to it (like any transfer would) . I can see why people would be worried about such a large outlay for a player who is no longer a youngster and had 1 season in the prem.
  21. Hes gone from a 1 in 4 goal return in celta vigo to a 1 in 3 in the prem for wolves it does show improvement and I agree that we and Eddie would bring the best out of him. This does still feel like a never getting your money back pants down sort of fee. However this late in the window with a sellers market especially in terms of strikers we only have ourselves to blame.
  22. Seen the replies below he's also thinking the sporting director now in doubt 🤣
  23. Think he means Schar 12 days concussion protocol Gordon 3 games Big joe who knows Tonali who knows

    Yoane Wissa

Think it was 6 or 7 days ago. Can only assume it was because they said they wanted at least X fee and a replacement as no replacement has come on like liverpool with us they may feel another bid is pointless if they cant let him go.
