https://khelnow.com/football/2023-08-world-football-most-expensive-kit-deals-premier-league Based on the maxi and shirt sponsor being Conservative could be anything between that 30 and 60 figure would be nice to push for the 60 but guess we cannot promise we arent a one season wonder in terms of Europe right now.

Anyone know Should I be going a size up on kids usual size? One is in 7-8 the other 8-9 normally ?

I think my fear is the lack of faith beyond what we played last season. The fringe players we have are the championship fodder we have had for a number of years. So far its 2 first 11 in and 1 out means we have effectively added only 1 player to our match day squad. Think due to ffp the club is banking on the flexibility of our front 6 to see us through. Risky as not sure if we will always be as lucky injury wise. Hoping the club remain active and are now thinking towards end of window there will be more movement either with selling clubs finally blinking and being more reasonable on price or more movement in general. I wonder if Howe can be persuaded to change his policy on loans if needs be to help with the long season.
-
I think my point is I want my squad to be filled with players I would select and put into games. If your filling a squad place to do the behind scene stuff we don't see and appreciate it I applaud the player for not kicking up a fuss not playing but if they still on any decent sort of wage then they have a great future as a coach but that shouldn't involve a squad place or player wage anymore.
-
The leadership group also includes Burn and Trippier who contribute infinetly more as they are a leader on and off the pitch as shown by Trippier showing up to welcome Tonali. Trust Howe but we do need to move on from expensive cheerleaders as we need a strong squad capable of delivering on the pitch not just the training ground and locker room.
-
Playing devil's advocate here it all depends on what sort of wage and contract they are on. While we arent skint their wage also contributes to the % wage turn over ratio rule. If they are not playing and roles are to enforce or to help build the culture then I would be mad if they pick up big wages. If we can't build a culture with the pros currently getting loads of game time or the coaching team working with them then something is wrong. No idea what a coaches wage is but that's all they should be on at this point.

Think the simplest way my head makes sense to it all is every penny we have now goes on balance sheet this year but every spend can be stretched up to 5 years. Like buying a car on finance you don't need 30k now you need 6k now. Pushes the spending into the future so your balance sheet is still suffering for years into the future but allows you to spread it and do more with less money on a single year. This only becomes a problem when you have maxed out what you can do year or year as all the transfers gone by are still coming off that year's ability to spend I.e. Everton.

I think it's the unpredictability of Maxi I will miss it didn't all come off but that's why we picked him up as cheap and he stayed as long. What he did do though was keep the opposition on their toes and wasn't a player you could ignore so at times he gave more space to others as another threat to mark. Has gone from being the "main man" to being just part of the squad as we have drastically improved as a team as a whole and individual talent, which I guess for some could be a mind fuck. The permission to go back to France when injured rather than stick around the side was telling to me. Still would rather the dross go but as argued at nauseum if we can't shift them then that's not a viable option.
-
Hope part of the equation is that his contract is running down and maybe he has indicated he won't sign another one. Sell now while having a willing buyer which in turn also helps recruitment and the fake bullshit balance ffp sheet. Loads want gone before him but no one wants them they want to loan etc so it's an impossible task doing it all while not rule breaking. Based on how the prem treated our take over you would imagine if they were to go hard on someone for any infractions it would be us.
-
Enjoy the extra year of backroom cheers and high fives you contributed less than 1% towards and fuck off out the club. Great servant bull he tried his best and was paid well for it. Average at best and a reminder of a time when putting some effort but being extremely limited as a player was tolerated and welcomed as its all we had come to hope from our players.
-
If true it just appears very short sighted for the player depending how its sold to him. Team on the up, long season, multiple campaigns and an aging player in front of you. One injury away from starting every week and while it's customary to keep a fixed back line rotation will be needed.
-
Worrying would mean we only had a few quid left to improve the squad if this comes off
-
Got to hope no training kit sponsor so we can offer both to one provider next season if we get castore to sod off.
-
Depends if Howe wants competition for places type players or immediate upgrades to the 11 as both come could potentially come in different price brackets. Wonder if Howe changes his mind on not wanting to bring in loans if you aren't wanting to buy due to the extra fixtures. Exciting times either way. We may well not spend or bring in enough but will be substantially more investment that in the previous regime. Not been enough time or transfer windows have gone by that I don't still remember bidding half a players value and saying we tried or declaring we are done with no noticeable improvements.
-
My take is he's young but hasn't made an immediate impact at the similar price point as botman and bruno albeit different positions. At this early stage of tight FFP figures as we buying off the back of years of minimal spending rather than clearly waste out for fees. So I can understand some say at 40m it would have been better spent on player X, Y,Z.l especially as we arent able to just take a loss or punt on someone at this stage of the rebuild. I just think young, English premium in the hope he comes good. Given the right support and time with the coaching staff may see him blossom.
-
If we get to CL and fail to get out of the group do you drop into europa league?
-
Agreed it was similar to the ball played at West ham but played down almost as a lucky hit.
-
We may find fees go down as players actually "push" for a move if we qualify for the champions league as we are seen as a good move but wages go up as we are a champions league team. Think I heard there are ratio rules on wages to income so imperative we get some good sponsors through the door too. Nearly as important as the recruitment from a long term success point of view.

Eddie Howe - Nominated for Manager of the Season
nufcjmc replied to InspectorCoarse's topic in Football
Not sure if this has been posted but enjoyed it. Might be the fact it's so positive. -
For me it just means when some fans say he's shit get rid and others say I hope he stays the managers comments don't mean he is a garenteed starter much like Alimron getting a new deal we want these players around for squad building but don't panic if your on the side they aren't good enough to start every game they won't. I like all our midfield except to get to the next level we need more goals from midfield.
-
I think right now he is trying hard to be part of how the team plays less running into blind spaces and looking to pass to the team. Right now I think he should be starting when fit unless its for a tactical reason however he doesn't score and therefore could be improved upon. Is he the first out the door in a continued rebuild no but if we bought a better player we will have to ask ourselves do you sell to offset FFP or do you keep, in some cases the choice may be made for us as the player is unwilling to play a bit part role. We will naturally buy better players but if Europe does become a regular thing we need a stronger squad of players. Thats why from Eddie's comments can be true without the thought as well that if a player becomes available they wont go for it despite what that means for Maxi's place.
-
I think the issue is not about if he stays but more if he is happy being a squad player as we improve the 1st 11 that's the destiny for those getting game time. Multiple competitions potentially next season there will be games he will be perfect for. If he wants to be the main man starting whenever fit I don't see it so much anymore.
-
I still think we will only have lists at the minute while some may have been courted already due to how they will naturally progress the side regardless of league finish or the deal is too good not to do. The other decisions will strongly rest on where we place come the end of the season based on who we can attract and if we need to ready the side of more quality in the 1st 11 and bench for a European competition.
-
We simply have no shooting boots your not going to pass it into the net and you can see they flood the box to snuff out any danger.
-
Think we also need to take into account who/how many are out of contract over the next 2 summers, they all cant be replaced in one window and we are likely to get some form of europe meaning more games in general. I am certainly guilty of still being stuck in the Ashley era of mindset wow 15/20/25 million that's a lot of money and while it is it was probably a full transfer window budget in years gone bye. Sustained and regular spending is required to not only keep up but also to evolve and improve the poorer/older/less useful players. If a player fits a long term strategy or slot and can be acquired I don't think which window or when should really come into it.
