  1. Its imperative we start to get a better hit rate from our youth team be it squad players for us or saleable assets but right now our hit rate has been awful and again no gaurentees with who we have been hovering up turning into the next Minteh. I guess we all would like PSR to disappear so we can just enjoy the players we have with the time we have with them instead of worrying about what value they hold down the line.
  2. I get you but saying stuff like we will sell him for 35m is just not gaurenteed. I mean nothing is gaurenteed 80m shiny your players from europe could flop etc etc But your buying an older player at peak value and alot of the isak headroom would be gone on that older player. IF we couldn't get 35m back and he hangs around and goes for free like Wilson then its alot of outlay for 2/3 good years. We have alot of older players to replace in the coming years burn, Lascelles, schar, Trips, kraft, targettt, murphy will all go for no or very little money and need replacing. What we do with big income injections really does matter when your general revenue isn't that great.
  3. I can see where your coming from and if Watkins was 25 or 30m there would be a long list of clubs after him. Villa don't want to sell is their official line and I feel 60/65m would be required so if that's true we give a big pot of psr helping money to villa, knock on affect of isak going which based on goal scored between the 2 last few seasons would be a small loss but isak is 26 this year and Watkins is 30 this year. Future value on a player in 2 or 3 years who knows no gaurentees of holding 30 or 35m still. Also the isak sales headroom would be going on a very very good quick fix but due to how much book value isak still has and this reported 10/15/20% sell on its not a load of extra wiggle room if your forking out big money on the replacement who has "peaked" value wise.
  4. Alot of wasted time and energy no doubt wasted on the isak thing I really hope the club has a plan to get out of this mess signing players and improving the squad would be a good start. 2 weeks to go until the season starts and we seem ill prepared and that's an understatement.
  5. Course he does that's at least 5 articles and videos sorted why? What will Newcastle do next? What it means for the players still there? What it means for Eddie? where are the club on their journey etc etc etc
  6. Just that if you want him Newcastle need someone in to replace him. Tongue and cheek from Craig no hope I suspect on a very quickly filmed youtube video saying Liverpool should be helping us get a replacement.
  7. Its 2 weeks before season kicks off with premium targets already moved on. Obviously its my own perception here but its already too late in the window to do this deal unless it's crazy money which sounds like right now its not.
  8. I think its reasonable to do it with 1 of the 2 strikers get experience a bit more guarantee on output and its not so bad if what they gave you short term doesn't come back financially in a resale. No gaurentees with any player in 2 or 3 years time they will be worth money to anyone the Saudi league may not save us so shouldn't come into the thinking. Harsh business sense should say there is every chance they walk for next to nothing and that should be factored into the risk analysis. So the fee of 60m plus for Watkins and 35 or 40 is a big ask. Spending nearly 100 or more does help this year combined they could and should bring more depth to the side than old man Wilson and isak did last year and provides depth we didn't have last year. However I can still see that fast forward conversation in 2 or 3 years time where we need funds to reinvest and sign replacements and the funds aren't there. You also have to look at the age of players elsewhere in the squad we have alot of positions to fill already in the next 24 months. Having both your strikers aging at the same time and potentially both needing to be replaced around the same time especially in a position that is getting more and more expensive to recruit in us dangerous.
  9. Working on a killer ramsdale reveal video no time for owt else loads of time left 🀣
  10. Come back a man ready to challenge the first team or bring us back a 30m transfer offer. All jokes aside hope the loan goes well no idea how strong the league he's going to is but hopefully he gets plenty of minutes.
  11. Actually I agree that the glazers are awful owners the dividends and saddling the club with mountains of debt. What's hard for me as a Newcastle fan who doesn't know alot about all the fine details is Manchester has been successful in spite of them spent massive amounts inspite of them had relative success inspite of them. Where could have they been with more engaged owners who put a little money in too who knows. Newcastle have seen relegations, joe kinnear appointments the lack of investment unless it was a sports direct one and now massively fallen behind on clubs we weren't that far away from financially when he took us over. It was a disaster ownership change with no upside unless fans from other clubs believe the yarn of well Ashley ran you financially well allowing when new owners to come in and spend heavily at first.
  12. Agreed as long as we get 2 in the lack of goals from Wilson last season will likely mean we aren't going to get 1 player getting isaks output if he goes but may quite easily be achieved sharing the load between 2 players instead. Or that's what I am telling myself.
  13. Let's hope giving him the extension means we get a fee to put towards this loan fee. Still think he's on a big wage if all he is right now is "backup" Getting wage from capology so I know to take it with a pinch of salt but the wage of the Greek fella and now ramsdale that's alot of wages for bench warning.
  14. Of all the positions to use up a loan on its a keeper when we already have a pile on the books reportedly on 120k a week I really don't get it.
  15. Fit out as in updating or new construction? Sorry appreciate if you can't say more 👍
  16. I mean that passing accuracy one might be a bit of a red herring as pope can pass OK when its a tap or roll to BDB or trips etc ask him to kick it more than 5 yards and its like he wants to kick a field goal into the stands.
  17. Apart from time taken on negotiations and possible size of loan fee and his high wages. Unless both the Greek and dubs are definitely away I see no need to push this to the front of the to do pile
  18. 25m relegation release clause supposedly with all we have to do surely wasting this much money on a 7th keeper can erm keep till later
  19. I agree can't knock them for trying but we dont seem to be dynamic or pivot quick enough this may well be down to what's happened at executive level but still won't help understanding why things have gone wrong if it still leaves it as a poor window.

I think its 65 sesko and 80 Jackson 🫢🀣 who would have thought this was where we would be after the end of the season we just had.
  21. I love the optimism which I wish I could share forgetting isak for a minute depending how we perform it could easily be a 60 game season, squad was already on the older and slower side last year and now a year older. The loss of Wilson other a body could argue with 1 or was it no league goals is no real loss the increased competition for Murphy is great. Longstaff in the end had under 500 mins last season I think. Botman may play more often than last year. Most agree we have a great starting 11 and now have competition at both wings but it's seriously asking alot to play wed/sat thur/sun for alot of these players and not expect injuries or tail off in performances through fatigue. Manager isn't stupid he's said we need to bring players in issue and fear now is will we. The other issue is he and the lads dug deep and pulled it around to have an amazing finish to the season but its asking alot to backup transfer failure to expect them to keep performing miracles.
  22. Its hard though next year even if he stays other clubs will be on the hunt for a striker meaning more competition and by the end of this campaign we may not have champions league qualification again meaning even harder to attract players more so than now. If we can secure one now it at least sorts the next summer to do list out a little which based on how many will be entering final year of contracts or their year extensions ending could be an extensive list to recruit again.
  23. Agreed but at least sesko has champions league experience and scored 4 in 8 appearances last time. Which for a 22 year old having big competition experience already is a definite positive. Appreciate the come back to that is longstaff and BDB have champions league goals doesn't make them champions league standard but you get my point.
  24. I think our weaknesses are all a priority brought on by no first team additions in 2 years, age of areas of the squad or quality drop off in others. If at the start of the window we wanted a striker if callum goes, RCB, RW and a midfielder if longstaff or willock go then look at a replacement for trips if he does leave likewise targett then we have only addressed 1 area. Scary putting down what is needed and thinking anything less of falling short even if we have money remaining to go again in January its hardly ideal to do so when a chunk of the season is gone.
  25. Weird 22 years old gave him a deal until 2027 but clearly not good enough for this level if that's the calibre of loan he's getting.
