We don't need any fucking centrebacks it's by far our strongest area and we don't really need another striker either unless we are playing four, four fucking two. We do need a new striker, but we need rid of Carroll, Gayle and Muto first. Probably Joelinton too. In fact we need 2 new strikers. If the Douglas thing is true in my head it would be replace if you get rid so if no one is sold or loaned out no more come in. Then when gayle limps back after Xmas its like a new signing......

Either its Option 1 : Bruce and his team have expertly analysed all of the games last year identifying failings and who would work in a certain brand new more attacking system he kept bleating on about when we didn't win. Option 2: the club as usual think we are all totally stupid and as long as we can say how many new players came in to make us "stronger" it doesnt matter which position they play at. Option 3: an agent friend of the club and needs a new pool like gordan Ramseys got and like the submissive gits we are we are more than happy to help out.

My marquee signing in FM20 Mobile, he’s been amazing. He was probably featured in the general football thread from around a year ago. Walked off the pitch after having chairs thrown at him and racist abuse. I’d say Porto are desperate to sell which is why the low ball bid. He’s not a bad player at all. Strong, decent pace. Will miss his fair share of chances though. Overall better than what we have. He would certainly take the pressure off Joelinton in having to play a role that blatantly isn’t suited to him. Having a set of strikers that either can't stay fit or cannot score at least 1 in 4 going into the next season for anyone that still cares is asking for trouble. Marega if it is true which I struggle to believe but his stats seem to suggest he is head and shoulders above what we have. Issue with any striker we bring in is the style of play or lack their of and players they work alongside. Unless we buy someone that generates and scores their own chance I can see anyone struggling.

It would if/when players pull up with niggles due to lack of match fitness/preparedness and under normal rules would involve players carrying on injured (happened already this season) or playing with 10 men. Agree with the point that looking past our 11 (which isnt that great to begin with) you havent exactly got 30/40/50 million pound players sitting on the bench like chelsea/man city etc

I'm sorry, I can't agree with this. It's 2-4 weeks, historically all deals have taken that kind of time to ratify. The Man City one with 3 owners, one from the middle east as a major holder and 2 other minor holders, took what, 22 days? It is a process, yes. It is a complicated process, yes. But it's one with an expected timescale which has been massively exceeded and I don't agree that we cannot infer there might be problems from this. Similarly, people mention "project restart" as if the PL is an organisation of 3 people who all have to do any work that comes in, like they'll down tools on this to prioritise work on that when in reality the PL is a massive organisation with dedicated teams for different things and in this case they're two entirely separate things. This is taking way longer than it should, way longer than we'd expect it to, and that is worrying. It’s a complicated deal and we are living in unprecedented times due to Covid-19, any deal of this nature will automatically take longer as a result and to consider otherwise would be crazy, whether the PL have 1 man or 20 man working on this. Again, patience is the key and everyone not to worry, there is nowt anyone of us can do anyway and willing it to happen yesterday won’t work. People can work remotely just as efficiently as in an office these days. It certainly doesn't double the timescales on anything. You're right that there's nothing we can do apart from wait, but I disagree about the "not to worry" bit for exactly the reasons I've mentioned. I think these are precisely the time and circumstances in which to worry. This is overdue. This is taking longer than it should. The silence is concerning. Whilst you can postulate about this and that and clutch at straws to explain the delay, the simplest and most obvious reason why it's taking so long is because there's a problem. even if your right and there is an issue it isn't a issue they have publically rejected the bid (unless they dont do that either) and that means that any issue is not insurmountable meaning the phase "it needs to play out" & "it takes as long as it takes" arent necessarily a bad way of putting things.

I cannot see that level of turn around to be honest. I have said before every player is replaceable however I would like 5 players in key positions to establish a core spine in the squad and in the next 2 or 3 windows actively look to get 2 or 3 quality editions per window. Obviously I like the idea of signing more under 19s for the future and to develop our youth setup at the same time. However that is almost secondary and dependent on which manager we have. I say that as some hate bringing on and integrating youth talent so would be pointless if that were the case. In a properly ran club, it's not the manager's responsibility to bring in or train youth talent... I meant more from the prospective of those players actually getting a chance and playing. Having a strong youth setup sounds great but if they are not playing or in the managers thoughts there is no point to begin with as there are far more important issues.

I prefer to hang on the comment of the tests "they are what they are for all to see" as in you may not like it but you can only judge on the test we have which hasn't thrown up issues as reported. Yes we may see the test change off the back of our takeover but still confident.

The Man City ownership is the same way. 78% Abu Dhabi group 12% China Media Capital 10% Silver Lake (American investment group) I was not aware of that at all with such a large % stake its almost like the others dont exist. I wonder how that works though say the board decide to invest 300 million into the club does that have to come as those 80/10/10%'s from the three owners or can one owner just foot the bill. Does over investment from 1 party allow them to ask for a different % of ownership down the line?

So has there been any plausible reasons as to why a mega rich business needs partners and would effectively give up 20% to have two other stake holders? Is it because they wish to remain silent and not have to deal with day to day operations? Is it because they haven't invested in a club before? Is it because it apportions the blame if it goes wrong at times? I am really curious to find out not sure if they will ever say but surely it will be a question put to them at some point.

If you mean risk free under say under 27 and already playing in the premier league then no chance and no one I also would suggest if your a 1 in 2 striker you will already be at a "next level" club on great wages so unless its something like falling out with a manager your unlikely to get one unless you unearth a gem. If you mean going for someone either older (that we would hands down dismiss in the past) or someone from the other leagues who may move for a wage boost and there being a risk they do not replicate the same form I would argue there must be players out there like that. Especially if we have an increased budget for that position as a lot of times our unwillingness to go for older or pay a premium have led to us dismiss players. Agree with this. Should be able to pick up a 30-32 yr old striker of pedigree for a reasonable price, especially post-Covid where clubs will be keen to get some income. Players in their early 30s are still in their prime, but often clubs want to move them on so they can invest in younger talents. its important to weigh up positive and negatives you don't want journeymen you don't want to be offering long deals to 32/33 year olds on massive wages as you cannot shift them. Accepting your not going to turn a profit on an older player but that's not to say a 30/31/32 year old cannot add value to your squad. If the big clubs move onto the next 22/23 year old break out star that should be leaving an ideal opportunity to take their older stars finding themselves down the pecking order. If we can get that and the next big thing as well then great but all about being realistic and still a little cautious in our signings.
