Burnley haven't signed anyone. Edit: Also we've signed Dubravka. It was always going to be a weird start to the window with us being so tight and the World Cup happening.

this is actually a very, very good point I agree, let's pay Shelvey 140k per week it will improve us no end.
-
Is that allowed?

I don't understand why short didn't just go for insolvency if he has to payoff120 million himself and he onlygot40million for The sale. Something is amiss he already spunked shit loads into the club. Why would he drop and other 80 million as an exit strategy. It's all bullshit.

Another with excellent talent we fucked. Well Pards probably in this case.

Sturridge makes a lot more sense. It is actually worse from a financial point of view though for the club other than us staying up because of it.

Various: Mike Ashley in talks with Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed Al Nehayan

It is going to be painful for whoever does buy us. I remember when Ashley fucked off a meeting with Dubai Investment Capital after the KK saga as he thought their offer was derisory. He is a risk taker, he'll take the risk of us going down vs him getting a bit more elsewhere or stumping in the money to keep us up. It doesn't make a great deal of sense though because surely he can just loan the club 50 million to protect his asset and then when the club is sold the debt remains. He says he doesn't have the capital to do such but I would imagine it could be easily raised. -

Worth a fiver however unlikely. -
I wonder what sort of striker we could get in return for that sort of money? A fairly shit one I'd have thought. We could get Hernandez if we throw a few mil extra in.

I still remember being the source for the first article which confirmed the last takeover. Great days. -
Why? I never enjoy watching someone with ability ruin their lives. He could have been a legit PL player with the natural ability he has. He better hope he's got bars cos I can't see another career for him outside of football You sound like you feel sorry for him. The bloke is a prick and has had countless numbers of chances to redeem himself, far more so than the average person in the workplace, with much less privilege. Because I don't revel in his demise I therefore must feel sorry for him? Jesus. I would have loved him to be a quality PL player as he should have been. I am glad he is not. I am quite glad he ruined his career as he had no regard for it. He could be on anything between 10k and 150k per week based on what he was like when he broke into our side. He fucked up more than any other player I have seen. He deserves it.

It happened in September 2016 last. -
So them not being at their best had nothing to do with us? They had 1-2 goal scoring chances even before their goal, had they been as clinical as they usually are then that wouldn't really have meant for Rafa's tactics tonight to be of any use. We really got into the game at some capacity after they scored, when we opened up more you could see that there was a chance we could have potentially got something, highlighting that they weren't at their best today. As opposed to us being completly dismantled if we opened up from the start. To be fair they need a brilliant goal line clearance to keep that 0-1 lead. Ifs, buts and maybes all over the shop. I'm not saying we didn't play well, I just think in hindsight we should have not been so conservative tonight from the off given how things turned out to be after their goal. Aye i understand, hindsight is a wonderful thing like. I don't want to see us play this way but i guess the ends (only losing 0-1) justified the means. It was the only way. We could have nicked something. We defended very well. If we set up like that every game we wouldn't lose many. If we had a quality striker we would do well.
