Nixon claims to be a Journo.

How much is Skjelbred? £3.5 to 4 Million I reckon. Maybe we could re-name the training ground and raise it that way.
-
Well sky will call it whatever Ashley wants them to call it. I can just see Stelling now "Over the The Sportsdirect.com@St James' Park Stadium with Chris Kamara and I hear Sportsdirect at Newcastle United Football Club have conceded a penalty."

Or just attach Ryan taylors feet to Jonas' legs.

Franz Carr Badabinga I thought Babangida was s**** never lived up to all the hype.

Name a pacy winger who can cross the ball who would cost 1m and we are sorted.

Thats where it is built.

All I'm saying WBCP is that you should deem this as a valid means of making money. Aye and what was that stadium called before the emirates? Also I hardly think a sponsor is going to pay a great deal for us with our performances for the last 5 years. We'll be lucky to get 1m a season and very lucky at that.
-
Well I am against the Naming rights as I don't think we'll get sufficient funds to make it worthwhile, we'll be looking at 1m a season or something, its not going to be massive. I'd still be against it if Shearer was a billionaire and bought the club.
-
We wont get 6m a year, the biggest stadium naming deal in sport is in baseball and they get 10M$ per year. Itll be like 6m for 6 years or something.
-
That's what they want you to think. Well we wont see any money in Jan anyway as he isn't selling the rights till the summer, probably expecting us to be back in the prem. He did say he's looking for 6m which Hughton will get so I assume if we go up his budget will be whatever this stadium bollocks generates. Pretty essential that we strengthen the squad to survive, IF we make it back to the EPL. Basically, we need to ensure our EPL status to ensure the future of the club. Which selling the stadium naming rights would be a step towards. Better to loose one aspect of our tradition than the whole club? Well what I was trying to say even if he got 6m for it, if thats all he gives HUghton (which it more than likely will be) we'll come straight back down. We need a 15 goal a season striker, 2 wingers a central midfielder and cover for the defence. We need about 15m at least.

Care to expand on what it is exactly that I am missing here? Think Blef's trying to say some things shouldnt have a price. Would you be happy if we changed our names to Morrisons Marauders to make a few quid?

Realistic Transfer Targets January 2010

Wingers would be class, Weiss from Man City would be great but apart from that I can't think of any decent wingers we could reasonably sign on loan, if we had money I'd like us to go for Jonjo Shelvey but alas we don't, maybe we could offer them Jonas in exchange, maybe he could cut it in league 1. -

"A million quid" - wonder what we will get for that! I wonder if he sells Jonas if hell get more to spend. Doubt it though. -

Yeah, I reckon we'll destroy them depending on the team we start with. I don't know if it would be the correct thing to do but I'd drop Jonas for this one go 2 up top and geive nolan a bit of freedom again. Harper Simpson Colo Taylor Jose Smith Raylor(drift right) Guthrie Nolan Ranger Carroll At home I think we can afford for the fullbacks to push on alot more. -
If we had 1 decent winger who can stick in a cross and an energetic powerful midfielder we'd walk this league, we have neither we need to look at a different system than 442 or 451. Something like this Harper Raylor Colo Taylor Enrique Smith Guthrie Nolan Ranger Jonas or Lovenkrands Carroll

Yes he had his nervous moments, but as far as I'm concerned this gives us a very valuable back up central defender to call on which is a bonus. Zurab has looked anything but convincing in his last coule of starts so if one of our own younger players can step up all the better. As many people say Centre back is an old mans position, for his age he's doing very well. I think he'll be a decent prem player in the future, not the best in the division but a key defender for a midtable side.
-
As long as he can prove his fitness, definitely. Would be a far, far better option than Danny Simpson. I quite like simpson, seems to have gone backwards since his injury though, I don't think he's 100% fit and playing at centreback half the time aint gonna help when you have the physique or Rey Mysterio Jnr
-
Well we do have the best squad, we just dont have the best balance. We have plenty of slow, yet talented midfielders, no wingers a good defence with decent cover for all areas (by this I mean better than that of other teams). We probably have the best Strikerforce in the league it just isn't used properly and also the best pair of keepers.

"What became of Gaizka Mendieta?"
relámpago blanco replied to WarrenBartonCentrePartin's topic in Football
think thats slightly harsh, he was obviously only suited to the Spanish game. Many players are like that, if he'd stayed at Valencia all his career he'd have had a great career.
