I'd like to stop the boats. Many people try attempting that crossing in dinghies effectively. God knows what the actual number who have died is as they'll be at the bottom of the Channel. I also do agree with the general sentiment however. Happy for us to take in people who need asylum but also not happy for us to pay a lot to fund people. Make it harder to get here but also create a fairer and better system to claim asylum. None of that will happen so thousands will die trying to get here and there will also be a burden on the taxpayer for some that shouldn't be allowed to come.
