  1. Definitely I can definitely see Ashley being like Steinbrenner. Ashley: Where's that calzone, I can smell it! Charnley is in the building!
  2. This. I grew up in the same era, I don't think some people understand what this club can be. Martin Samuels can mind, that is why he and his fellow football "journalists" will be absolutely tearing their hair out right now. They don't exactly do a very good job of hiding it in their writing either.

Preach! Would have him managing us at 79 to be quite honest. That's how much faith I have in the man

Bobby Robson was 69 when we finished 4th. not apples to apples at all. Sir Bobby had only taken 1 year off from management since 1968/1969 and that was in the 1997/1998 when he was "upstairs" at Barcelona. Keegan has not managed a football club since 2008. Doesn't matter. Keegan was and always has been a motivator who could do that better than just about anybody. He could still attract players here, he could still get the best out of them, and he could still get the team playing good football. How long he's been away from the game is irrelevant. People thought he was going to fail miserably when he came back in 2008 but we played our best football under him since Sir Bobby was here.

Provided he wanted it, give him the managers job. Keegan with financial backing would lift the entire city, and give us attacking football.
  7. Get that champions league theme tune played.... don't man Too late...
  8. It's absolutely happening. He's going have his brain implanted in the stomach-window of a cyborg Charnley like the knock-off Krang he is.
  9. Brucey has us within 6 points of them, way closer than Rafa ever did Not sure if serious. fucks sake To be fair it's probably true, says more about Spurs than us. Clearly not the narrative he's pushing though. The quality of the league in general has dipped massively this season so it definitely says more about Spurs than "how good of a job" Bruce is doing.

  11. Clearly a crazy opinion of you're old enough to remember the first spell, but I'm not so I get what you mean. Loads of optimism at that time. When it was Ashley in with the fans, Mort as chairman and Keegan as manager, it really did feel like we'd get back up there again. I genuinely believe had Keegan been allowed to build the team he wanted to, and had set out to, we could have been where Tottenham are right now.
  12. Did someone actually claim that Steve Bruce is a more progressive manager than Kevin Keegan??
  13. To those saying Keegan is 69, so was Sir. Bobby when we finished 4th. To those saying Keegan has been out of the game too long, that's exactly what everyone said when he came back in 2008 and he proved them wrong. Provided he wanted to give it one more crack of course, I'd have him back here and managing us in a heartbeat. He has unfinished business, and he could still do great things with new owners. At the very least, he should be involved with the club and have a statue outside of the stadium, or a stand named after him. I'd love to see Keegan and Rafa working together here some day.
  14. Said this before but as much as I love Rafa and would want him managing us again at some point, Keegan would be my first choice, especially in these circumstances. Nobody can galvanize the place and boost the confidence of the players like he could. I doubt he's lost his ability to do that.
  15. That Ginola goal was a thing of beauty. Definitely a top 5 all-timer.
