  1. Totally killed the game for us. What a plonker.
  2. I'm of the opinion they should just scrap the windows all together and go back to the old system of buying people whenever. Stops all the panic buying and overspending.
  3. I'd imagine so. 6 PL goals, tops?
  4. I think he'd still be a good option for us. Hoping we can get this one sorted.
  5. The stripes go higher up on the front than they do on the back. That's what throws it off for me.
  6. The whole sorry caper is too much for me; what makes it worse is knowing an insignificant percentage are willing to stand up for themselves. Nearly 50,000 people think what's happened is good enough. I genuinely think I'd feel a lot better if I knew the place was going to be empty against Arsenal. I'd still feel part of something. Instead, I feel completely detached. I'm off to Bradford City next week, I can't wait. Just a case of sitting back and watching those same people complain when the transfer window closes and we've only signed 2 players. They'll chant "get out of our club" like they're doing their part, and Ashley will be sat there next to Charnley having a good laugh at them because they paid something like £700 to do it.
  7. Didn't you read it, he absolutely cares and Ashley's hoping he's the one  Seriously, how can shit like this be printed. Lies and propaganda, without being questioned at all. Couldn't finish reading it. Fucking sickening.
  8. Source? Sky News The results were only published after markets had closed on Friday afternoon, having been due for release at 7am - and previously been pushed back from an initial release date of 18 July. Shares fell 4% on the delay, which was described as a "shambles" by one analyst - even before investors were able to deliver a verdict on the results themselves. They will now have to wait until Monday when trading reopens to do so.
  9. First it rains, and now this. What a day http://i.imgur.com/yHBmJ.gif
  10. Rafa is extremely specific in how he wants everyone to play. Didn't he kick off over a corner being taken differently to how he wanted it to be taken last season? Yeah set pieces are diff, and where players stand, positioning generally can all be drilled but knowing when to release the ball is really difficult to teach My point was he could be coached to play a certain way and when to utilize his pace/dribbling. I agree that it can be difficult to teach but it's easier than teaching someone how to run as fast as he can, or being able to naturally go past people endlessly. Coaching him on where to put the ball as opposed to when to play it is different as well. I'm not dismissing footballing intelligence or anything like that but look at how Rafa got the best out of his players.

  12. Definitely has poor decision making in the final third but I'd rather us sign someone like him who has the traits you can't teach and lacks the ones you can. His pace and skill are unquestionable. He just needs to look up when he gets into the box by the looks of it. I’m not too sure you can reach decision making personally, perhaps to a certain level but if Traore couldn’t learn it at Barca, then I’m not so sure. Being able to choose correctly in the final third is often an innate skill. He could be coached to look up and pick somebody out when in the box though which would help his game, rather than just seemingly toe-punting it anywhere when he's out of dribble room. Teamwork can be coached into a player. Wtf coached to look up and pick someone out in the box, don't you get taught that at like 8 year old ffs Well clearly Maximin didn't

    Joelinton

I'm saying a section of our fan base will be fickle enough to jump straight back in now that we've paid £40m for one player who's going to wear the #9 shirt.

    Joelinton

Hence Ashley gets a portion of the 12k unsold tickets sorted. He knows what he's doing.

    Joelinton

Lets hope he has minimal input on team selection and tactics as well. He's probably just being told to stand there and look pretty for the cameras.
  18. Look at the insults I've taken for having the absolute temerity to go to football games, football games played by my football club Nobody is insulting you for going to the game, that's 100% your choice. You're getting insults because you're unable to grasp the importance of not going. Because I have a different opinion to you regarding what will not going do? I've listened to what's been said regarding the importance of not going, but just because you've said it, it doesn't mean it's true? We have completely different views on the best way to help the club, that's fine. It's all about opinions, there's a hell of a lot off people out there who disagree with you. And they are being as utterly obtuse as you then. You have come up with no viable alternative solution. Fairly obvious why people see you as part.of the problem. And just because there are more like you doesn't validate your opinion against what should be blatantly obvious to anyone at this point. This is not fresh. We are f***ing 12 years into this regime, and have seen a cycle play out. Absolutely no excuse at this point if you are still fine with getting dry-fisted up the starfish. Ofcourse everybody else is wrong, and you're right. That must be it mate. Maybe people see boycotters as part of the problem? You're so hell bent on 'helping' because you have this view of how Newcastle United should be that you don't seem to be able to comprehend that you're actually making things worse. How are boycotters 'part of the problem'? In the words of a courageous, principled, chicken nugget loving young man, Seymour, I have been nice to you, but now I'm coming to the edge. Your view on the matter is totally and utterly warped. When you talk of boycotting not working in terms of increasing the likelihood of Ashley selling, how can you possibly believe that when it's never been done (large-scale, whole match) before? Because it isn't helping things, can you not see that? Ashley is the problem 100%, but boycotting will create a negative atmosphere on the players which rival managers will use to benefit them. As supporters we are supposed to help the team, not be detrimental towards it. Because its my belief that it wouldn't work? Just like it's your belief that it would work, despite us never doing it on a large scale before What exactly are we supposed to pay hundreds for to help the team achieve under Mike Ashley? Fucks sake man 12 years and you seemingly have no clue what the bloke has done.
  19. That would be plausible if we didn't spend so long haggling over the Almiron fee. Why was Rafa not given that £40m+ they were/are going to spend on Joelinton to get someone else in? Why was the biggest fee for an attacking player last summer £9.5m? The answer is obvious. Ashley normally will spend the bare minimum unless he's worried about fan unrest (which can hit him in the pocket). Pretty sure Rondon on loan wasn't Rafa's first choice striker in the market either. We all know Rafa had to settle for 5th and 6th choice targets because he wasn't being given the money to spend.
  20. A club record signing of this amount, at this point in time is aiming to get those back who have chosen to stay away. Ashley believes that spending so much on one player will draw some of them back in, then when he has them back he can resume business as usual. If he didn't give a shit about the boycott he'd just get a striker in for £10-15m.
  21. Calling someone selfish for going to a football match is absolutely pathetic Not pathetic in the slightest. People are trying to organise a boycott for the Arsenal game and people can’t even get behind that for one game. That is pretty selfish don’t you think? As in YOU won’t boycott one game because YOU want to go to the game. People always have to make hard choices, not being prepared to test it for one game seems incredibly selfish. So its just for one game is it? What the f***s that going to do like? we boycott one game and Ashley sells the club suddenly? Nah You do realise you boycotting will propably create a negative impact on the team against Arsenal don't you? If anything that's selfish.... If not a boycott, what would you suggest fans do as an alternative to try and fight back? We'll that's a good question, what can we do? I don't know to be truthful Mike Ashley is a billionaire, a very, very, stubborn one at that. It's not what fans want to hear but after 12 years people should have realised that he sells the club when he wants to sell the club We've had boycotts and protests in the pasts, he knows you want rid off him and he's still here We've never had so many people refuse to go back, to the point where 12k season tickets are still available though. That's the difference here, and again it's resulting in Ashley spending a large amount of money on one player. Imagine what could be achieved if more people stayed away. We can't just sit and shout at him in the stadium. The cameras have literally showed him laughing back at every single person doing it because he already has their money. I think it should be clear by now that a miracle isn't just going to fall into our laps. Fans need to be proactive against Ashley now in order to hit him in the pocket and take our club back. Give over man, do you honestly think the reason we are possibly signing Joleinton is because 12k hasn't renewed? Didnt we want to sign him in January but Rafa wanted money spent elsewhere? That's exactly why we're signing him. Do you seriously think Rafa was offered that much money to spend on one player and turned it down?? Christ We're signing him because we need a forward man, nothing to do with fans renewing or not. Not very clever, are you? Genuinely believing that the reason we're potentially signing Jolelinton is because fans haven't renewed not because we need a new forward after losing Perez and Rondon or anything . Aye, it's me who's not very clever Again, explain why we're spending that amount on one player when we've never even spent half of that amount on someone in 12 years. It's called desperation. Because the scouting team rate him highly and the club will believe that he's a player worth investing in? Either that or they're spending 36m on a s*** player to try and get fans to renew, that must be it. Yeah, just randomly out of the blue spending over £40m on someone because they rate him highly. That has to be it. I'm done. Good luck cracking this nut, gents. Fuckinghell  I'm sorry but utterly deluded, the reason he's been signed is because we need a new forward man f*** sake Signing a a player for £36m because some fans haven't renewed imagine actually thinking that Aye, im done too. f*** it, I'm back in So why haven't we spent this much on a player before? Look at the players we could have had over the last 5 years but refused to spend that much money. Why all of a sudden now when there's major fan outrage due to Rafa leaving, the failed "takeover", a threat of a boycott and 12k season tickets still unsold going into the new season? Why didn't we spend that kind of money last summer, or even in January when Rafa was still here as an incentive to keep him on board? We spent 6 months haggling over Almiron ffs. We generally operate on peanuts just to stay in the league man  Do you think we're gonna start spending this much all the time now? Thinking that the reason we're potentially signing him is because of season tickets renewals man this is why we get called deluded, can you not see that man? The club hadnt broke its transfer record in 12 years but yet did in January... Think about it man The Almiron deal is set to rise to a record breaking fee based on clauses. The fee up front was reported to be under £20m. Why was Rafa only given £22m to spend on 5 players last summer, even though we took in over £40m in player sales?
  22. The point is it's out of the ordinary. In 12 years Mike Ashley hasn't even spent half of the reported amount. Why all of a sudden now when Rafa has left? Why wasn't Rafa given even half of that for one player last summer?
