The pundits all look out for each other and managers in the game. I forget who it was specifically but someone really laid into Pardew when he was appointed here on ESPN or somewhere, calling him a con merchant etc. That's the only person in the media I can ever remember telling it like it was when it comes to him.

Joselu and Perez really need to be dropped. Again they offered absolutely nothing apart from the 1 shot each. Yedlin really needs to work on his crossing as well because he wasted a good handful of opportunities.

Murphy is raw but would've been absolutely no harm in trying him out today for the final 20. We needed some more pace and direct play out wide, especially with Ritchie off the boil. Agreed. For that last 20 minutes we needed someone who was willing to run at their defense instead of playing it sideways.

I thought Atsu looked really bright in the first half but he definitely fizzled out.

Couldn't agree more. Our ceiling is outside of the top 10 and it's imposed by the person who should be demanding more. I can't wait until he leaves and we can finally function as something resembling ambition again.

I'm pleasantly surprised by how good we sounded today, as I had us down for a 3-0 loss. Glad to see Joselu hit the ground running as well. Hopefully he can keep it going because we're gonna need some consistency up front and I don't think Gayle will provide it in all honesty.

As far as I remember this whole stigma started with Souness but I may be wrong. He's an odious gobshite that still makes me cringe over the damage he did to our squad whenever I see him blabbing away on Sky. I remember when we beat Arsenal at home in 2005-06 and he came out with something along the lines of "they don't like it when you rough them up" in his post-match interview, and before you know it the Arsenal players were getting their legs broken and what have you.

What's more we don't look like we've wanted to. Just completely lethargic and barely anybody seems to want to be anywhere near the ball.

With this team we're not finishing higher than bottom 5. We're absolutely woeful.
