Oh get lost. He was a hero of mine growing up. He was brilliant for us under Keegan and people on here have short memories. I've read people calling Ketsbaia a legend and give him the job because he kicked an advertising board but what we'd have given for Ginola in his pomp last season. No, people were calling for Ketsbaia because as well as loving the club, he's actually learned his trade elsewhere and done wonders with Famagusta getting them to the Champions League. Yet the same people will call for Shearer when he's had 10 games in management and got us relegated in that time. That's what i'm saying. Like Ketsbaia is at least currently doing, the likes of Shearer and Ginola need to learn their trade first. And getting Famugusta into the CL hardly qualifies him.

Well as you dont consider Mourinhos Champions League medal as a good acheivement i was nt sure Klinsmann only one year? Really? Now you're putting words in my mouth. And yes Klinsman was there for 1 year and still considered a legend. He came back a few years later for a short loan spell.

We'll sign several Premiership players on loan this season.

A good manager is influenced by nobody.

Quick question. Will you go to Shola Ameobi's testimonial?

I would have loved us to have Ginola in his pomp last time FFS. He was better for Spurs, far more consistent and didnt give up in his second season. Well considering he was footballer of the year for Spurs that's not surprising. He was great for a year here. Klinsman is a legend at Spurs yet he was only there for one season and didn't win anything.

Glass would have kept up last season and that's saying something. Even someone as limited as Lovenkrands nearly made the difference. Just shows you what a let down Owen was. He should have done enough to keep us up. And Viduka.

I would love to see Liverpool drop out. If anyone drops out it will be Liverpool. But it won't be Man City who finish 4th.
-
Bollocks, I'll bet you a fiver they finish in the top 8. I say 'at best' slightly in jest because it looks a poor league this year beyond the top 6 or 7. 7th or 8th maybe but top 4? Absoloutely no chance. I'll bet anyone whatever they like on that.

What ginola s***? Sorry I completely missed this.. that and not having SSN. He wants the managers job here Ginola is a legend, as is Shearer but they need to start lower down to get experience before they're ready for this job. We need a proven manager.

Everton Anichebe here on loan Apparently.
-
If we sold Taylor then i'd be angry.
-
I honestly think Taylor and Smith are the two players we wouldn't sell unless we got silly money. Everton would have to pay at least 10 for Taylor.
-
If we could get Colo off the wage bill and get a solid defender in then that would be good business. Smith is irreplaceable though, unless you're willing to spend millions, which we aren't in the position to do. And clubs like Forest have struggled getting defenders in, so maybe its best to stick with Colo unless we have someone lined up. ireplaceable haha, just off 1 good game in over 2 years at the club he's on 4 million a year and we have plenty of cover in midfield also remember it could be either sell, or eventually go into administration I'm aware of the finances mate but he's one player i'd really hope to keep. In terms of the cover you mention, i'd rather let Barton, Nolan and Butt go.

If O'Leary doesn't happen then i'd take Coppell. Did great with Reading and knows how to get out of this league. As does Curbishley but he'd get a nosebleed going up north. That's why Harry Redknapp was never gonig to come here.

It annoys me how Shearer wanted to keep the crown jewels i.e. the likes of Smith, Bassong, Taylor, Beye, Duff and Martins but if Duff goes then that only leaves Smith and Taylor which is sad in a way. But the best thing about this summer is that we've managed to keep Smith and Taylor up till now. Bassong was always likely to move on and Beye couldn't turn down European football.

Give it a rest man. We get it. You're on the wind up. Very funny. Yeah, my opinion's different to yours so i must be a WUM. Grow up.
-
Agreed. But then again, there's none so blind as those who will not see. Although some have made their minds up on Smith already and won't change it.
-
and if we dont? Well if that's the way of thinking i'll put my white y-fronts on a stick cos there's no point at all. I think there's a slim but very possible chance of promotion at the moment. And you're willing to bet the club's future on that chance?
-
Oh my god. Isn't that all we can do though? This league is inferior (Stephen Carr got promoted FFS), so we are all in the process of watching how the team perform at this level and adjust our mindset as to what is and what isn't good enough. It will take a while to fully establish what a good player is and what a good player isn't at this level. Agree with this. I don't know why some people seem to have it in their heads that playing in the championship is in any way comparable to playing in the premiership, and that the same level of ability is required, because frankly the gulf between the two divisions couldn't be any wider. Smith looked good against WBA and he'd look good against most of the s*** in that division. I said it BEFORE West Brom and i'll say it again (seeing as you're only as good as your last game on this forum): Alan Smith is too good for this league. He's the one player we should really strive to keep.
-
Repeat and repeat again and again until it sinks in. YOU CANT RETAIN PLAYERS IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP WHO ARE ON OR ABOVE 25k A WEEK. DUFF IS ON A REPORTED 60k ISH. IT WILL CRIPPLE THE CLUB FFS. Meanwhile having a squad of about 16 players is a sure-fire way to survival. It won't cripple the club if we get promoted. Its risky to gamble though. You're gambling with the club's future if we don't win promotion. Take the money in this case.
-
I'd honestly say he's the one player left in the squad who's indespensible. He'll make us tick this season and give us the bite we need. Without him we'll have no bite in midfield.
