Just been through their remianing fixtures, I got them on 35 pts. But was very generous to them with my scores. Tough one, they can do it but they are going to have to put some serious effort in.

Yup, i think the best they can hope for is 35 and i think thats a tall order now. They play Fulham next, that game is massive.

They need 26 points from their remaining fixtures to be sure of staying up, takes them to 40 pts. To give themselves a chance of staying up they'll need 21 pts from their remaining fixtures, giving them 35 pts. Baring in mind they've only collected 14 pts from the first half of the season. That defeat today has wiped out their mini revival. Terrible defeat.

It is not generally known that we made a bid for Shearer at the same time as Blackburn but they got him because a)they bid a bit more after our bid and b)Shearer wanted PL football which we couldn't offer him at the time because we were on the verge of our promotion season. I do seem to remember KK standing on the steps of the Milburn speaking with fans face to face explaining why he was selling Cole. I also remember offers coming in for Dyer from Leeds and Man Utd , SBR saying we should be looking to keep players like Dyer if we want to build a team. Both were proven to be correct. I suppose it comes down to ambition and finance. Ambition costs money in this league.
