For as long as I have lived, I have fucking hated Liverpool. There was a spell of about 20 years from the mid 70s onwards when they had - quite literally - every single iffy decision go their way. I can think of few things that would make me happier than King Kenny plunging Liverpool even further into mediocrity.

I'm never sure of the presence of the "e" in that surname. I usually take a guess each time. I've never been that aware of a correlation between football skills and ease of spelling of surname, though.

What's happening with him, has he not been much good then? Out injured for a season or so, not had many chances since. Not too sure he's going to make it. Tendency to go into tackles two footed a bit too much for my liking, but a run of games somewhere would do him a lot of good. Gary Gardener (who is a fantastic prospect) has overtaken him in the pecking order now, as had Chris Herd till he got injured again.

Racism still exists in football. It'd be somewhat arrogant of a white person (ie me and most of us, I suspect) to suggest otherwise, as we'd not be the ones on the end of it. Having said that, if you think back to the 80s, the change is incredible. I see a lot more asian and black supporters at Villa matches (particularly more asians) than in times gone by. Things are improving, but if you take your eye off the ball, you can get a reminder of what you're trying to eradicate (which is what made Liverpool's recent actions so disappointing and reckless)

We have apparently dumped Nike. I havent bought a replica shirt for about 20 years, and don't understand why people do buy them to be honest, but by all accounts, the quality of the Nike shirts was absolutely awful. Last year, they didn't get the shirts into the shops until December (!!) as the club repeatedly sent batches back as not good enough quality. Apparently, Celtic had the same problem - one wash and they'd fall to pieces. Then there was the fact that for the last couple of years, they just gave us whatever RC Lens had had the year before, except with the colours changed. Apparently the new deal is with Macron, who I believe are an Italian purveyor of overpriced tat, rather than an American purveyor of the same.
