Depressingly, I fear you are right on that.

Arsenal’s last two dreadful results coming so unexpectedly has made me genuinely start to think the stars are aligning for something special to happen. note to self:
-
Suspect they are going to revert to the mean now after that little spurt of decent results.
-
Clear penalty, it was a vicious hack at Duran. Last time I saw such a terrible clear assault of a fowl was when Matty Cash tripped Bentancur over and sent him to live in heaven with the angles.
-
Dont think it is that with Emery, it just seems some sort of weird quirk about him.
-
We've done that a lot this season, too, including today, one of them being someone who only signed professional forms last week. I don't get it.
-
Obviously not that many as we’ve been playing it over a year now and have won more points in 23 than anyone except Man City and Liverpool.
-
No fear, it'll be back soon. That incarnation, I mean.
-
Oh, give over.

There is tons of football left. I think top four or five will be a push, but there's easily enough games left - half a season - to move well up the league. Then there's the insane inconsistency of the league in general this season. There are going to be opportunities for teams to move up a lot (look at West Ham and Wolves lately). You need to find some consistency from somewhere, though. It doesn't matter losing matches like last week so long as you respond to it properly and minimise the damage, get back on course. I know you've had more injuries than Hamas recently, but I also think Champions League has taken it out of you. It has been a challenge being in Europe for us too, and although our matches have been more arse end of nowhere locations and draining in that way, yours have been against really good opposition. That takes a physical and mental toll, and I don't think your squad is deep enough to be able to handle that. The upside = second half of the season, don't need to worry about it.

Win win for you toony, bab x

For us, that's a very very fortuitous set of results having spunked away three points at Old Trafford. I know it is all hype and what not, but things like this last round of games are why the Premier League is the most popular in the world. Mad results.

Some good results unfolding for the Villa boys tonight.

The absolute spurious use of the word “football” in the term “the football club”, which is usually used by ex players in the media because they think it makes them sound clever. Saw Michael Dawson interviewed the other day and he did it about eight times in two minutes. “He’s come into the football club and turned things around”. “This could be very important for the football club”. JUST SAY “CLUB”. We know you don’t mean the working man’s club, the cricket club or the fucking Christmas club. You don’t have to specify which “club” you’re talking about. I remember posting similar on this thread about fifteen years ago and it still really really pisses me off.

DCL first scorer + Everton 2-1 scorecast - 100/1. Had a cheeky tenner.
-
I hope they do. Tempted to have a flutter, but would cross my "wanting a result" v "betting on it" line.
-
Palace are largely pointless. They just exist because they can. They've always felt like a plasticky club to me, can't really explain why. Fucking nightmare to get to, too.
-
My occasionally sage ITK contact tells me we’re about to sign Timo Werner. Apparently Emery and Monchi have done huge in depth analysis and concluded they want him. Fine by me.

Funny, Spurs fans were getting all worked up about a bog standard nothing yellow card challenge by Matty Cash on Bentancur, how he was worse than Hitler and a thug, and - confusingly - how Romero was going to kill him etc. Then a week or two later, same Romero narrowly avoids snapping someone in half with a tackle ten times as bad. Spurs fans only slightly less unhinged on the internet than Arsenal fans.
-
Was thinking just now, all the time I've been posting here, year after fucking year you and we were both occupied with either looking at the bottom of the premier league, or the top of the championship. That's why i hate glory hunters. Boo hoo the Glazers, boo hoo FSG etc etc. Try, literally, decades of stinking of death.

Also, name sounds like he should be a magician, or something from a Hobbit knock-off series of books.

It's magnificent viewing.

I think if a manager - anywhere, not just yours - performs as stellar-ly as Howe did last season (and the season before, wasn't it?) then has a duff season, albeit one with mitigating circumstances like injury problems, he's bought enough time, he's owed a duff season. I know football isn't like that, though.
-
Really? Rather that than, say, winning the Europa or Conference leagues? Imagine winning something. It drives me mad enough it being so long for us, it must be a fucking nightmare for you lot. I'd want my team involved in as many of them as possible.

Gallagher is utterly mediocre, the absolute archetype "overrated mainly because he's English" player. However, he's FFP gold to Chelsea, and some muppets will sign him.
