I think so. I actually wouldn't be surprised if Legia get kicked out after last night's shenanigans (which, it has been revealed today, involved the club not saying they'd even take the tickets for their fans until two hours before the game, they were clearly in cahoots with their fans to get more of them into the ground).

We needed to win by two goals last night to guarantee first place. We basically now just need a point in Bosnia in the final match, assuming Legia win against AZ Alkmaar. We have mathematically qualified already (and had done before last night's game), but we could really do with just forgetting this competition until March or whenever it is. We came very close to the two goal margin with Bailey having a shot bounce down on the line towards the end of the match, but no buzz on the referee's watch. We seem to have absolutely ZERO luck with goal line technology.

Not in Aston, it's not, a raucous night there tends to involve firearms.

Properly kicking off outside the ground, still, Legia fans outside throwing stuff into the Holte End. Coppers with dogs and on horses (obvs not at the same time, mind). 1980s style aggro. I think they're going to be in trouble with UEFA (again) after this.

No Legia fans in the ground, been kicking off big style outside the ground (as predicted by me on another thread somewhere).

I was really surprised we sold him tbh, featured a lot in pre-season and did very well. Yes, buy back on him at 15m, similar to Ramsey and Archer

I think there's a real chance of trouble at our match against Legia Warsaw on Thursday. An argument involving the police, Villa and UEFA about restricting their ticket allocation (due 2,100, we gave them 990) - after their fans kicking off at AZ Alkmaar. The Polish ambassador involved (really), and they reckon loads of them coming without tickets. Lots of talk about Brum based Polish community wanting (and probably managing to get) tickets. They also kicked off really badly at Leicester a few years ago. At the fixture at their place, they held our fans back over two hours afterwards, the police were very handy with their shields, we had no access to toilet facilities and got charged for tap water - all this because their Ultras were so intent on kicking off outside after. I dunno, it might amount to nothing, but being of the age where you've seen this happen lots of times, I just smell something in the air.

Jonathan Lieuw? I totally agree, he's a pretentious tosser, writes almost exclusively content that reads like it is principally aimed at other sports writers who then feel obliged to kiss his arse. He's my least favourite football writer, with the exception of Rod Liddle, who is only a part time football writer but who remains one of my least favourite people on the face of the earth, let alone in the papers.

What's particularly impressive is, those 38 games he's been here, when he arrived, we were only out of the relegation places on goal difference. He's done that whilst picking us up from such a piss poor level under Carpethead. I said a while ago on here that he's improved literally every player we have except Leon Bailey. I take that back, Bailey has been on fire lately for us.

Don't let @toon25 see this. He's fully converted now.

The there / their thing. Jesus Christ. Fucking scousers.

Jorginho also with that stupid running on the spot thing, that can fuck off too* *. although Douglas Luiz does a variant of that, but in his case, it's perfectly fine.
-
Someone needs to stop these fucking stopped-run-up John Aldridge style penalties.

Gets a touch on the ball, but not enough, Fulham player would have carried the ball had he not brought him down.
-
Looks nice from the river, mind. I can only begin to imagine how much the over-moneyed London ponces are charging for seats in that stand.
-
Surely Everton is the best example?
-
Every time I watch Fulham at home on telly, I find myself wondering whether that new stand is ever going to be entirely open.

It's absolutely amazing how Man United manage to spend most of the season being a disorganised joke yet still seem like they're fucking welded into the top four mix.
-
I know it's a good back four selection - I said it on here in pre-season - and I know that we've got a good squad (I'd suggest Tielemans was bought for more than sitting on the bench, he's not starting very often but he's clearly shown himself important to us). I'm just saying we too, in the light of this weekend's candle-lit vigils for Spurs, have struggled with key injuries this season. Dendoncker isn't very good, mind.
-
Yeah, but the devil is in the details - Duran is 12 years old, Iroegbunam is a kid, Moreno and Ramsey are literally just back - ie this weekend - from injury (other than a cameo against Brighton for Ramsey, in which he promptly aggrevated his injury and spent another month plus out), and Moreno in particular is nothing like ready to start. Also, Robin Olsen has crisp packets for hands so doesn't count. Your bench is rubbish, though, I'll give you that. Have you thought about signing some decent players? ;-)

It's not meant to be a competition, I know you lot have an injury crisis, but it's not exclusive - was just pointing out that for all the boo hoo Spurs injury woes yesterday, we lost 2 starters with long term injuries end of last season, into this season (until last week, in fact), and then another starter with an ACL two days before the season and one more in the first match (an extremely important player for us on and off the pitch). We managed it, though. Listening to the media this weekend, I'm surprised most of them aren't gathered around the cenotaph at some point soon to pay respects to Ange in this time of great suffering for them. The only one we addressed in the market was Zaniolo in for Ramsey.
