Would you have been happy to pay Diarra 90k a week? I know I wouldnt, no matter how easily the club could afford it.
-
Get in! Staying 5th. Come on Derby! (Soz, Speccy)
-
MON said this week that his agent told us he wanted 90k a week, so we told him to cock off. Fuck that for a game of soldiers. Fair enough like. I tend not to worry too much about what they earn though. End of the day a good player is worth it, I'm more worried about the proper wank players picking up half of that but never playing etc. Surely you'd have to be a very good player to merit 90k a week? Four year contract at 90k a week = 18.7m in total. For Diarra? No ta.

Nugent is broke. And Baros is fat and shit. The fat, shit cunt.

Scholes is fucking brilliant, and underrated.

To be honest fringe players is something Villa do lack. Live 30 mins away from Brum and have some mates who are Villa season ticket holders and they keep saying they lack any strength in depth. This is true. We also need to be signing some first team players too, though.
-
Don't start on Milner. He's quality. I wish we'd signed him today.
-
Well, I'm a bit underwhelmed by Routledge. Yet more bench fodder.
-
Maybe, I thought that their figures for his appearances this season seemed a lot smaller than they should have been, maybe they got confused with Routeledge? Quite possibly.
-
Spurs and Villa re both denying this KPB business. Looks like it may have been a Sky mistake.

No. Agbonlahor is rubbish out wide.

As I said earlier in this thread, there is no point trying to analyse his transfer market behaviour - he is a riddle wrapped in an enigma - you just have to put up with it. Prince-Boateng - god knows where that came from. Rumour has it that he watches the players he wants, then unless he sees other clubs make a move earlier, he jumps in at the last moment to get them on his terms. I still expect Chimbonda to sign tomorrow night, after 9-10 pm.

Nowhere yet, but he will be at Newcastle or Villa by end of play Thursday, you can bet your house on that. ITK? No. Wild speculation.

Yes. He dithers too much, he won't spend the huge amount of money he has at his disposal, and he always, always does his business at the last moment. I also slated some of his summer signings. Namely Harewood and Knight. I was also unsure about Davies initially. But look at the evidence, he was right, I was wrong. That's the thing with him, you just have to trust him, he does things in a weird, fucked up way, he baffles and annoys you in equal measures, but you just have to trust in him to get things right. Frustrating though it is at times. Support your manager? Get out of it man, you crackpot! Smallest squad in the PL, about to sell Cahill, no sniff of a signing with 48 hours to go. It is really, really fucking difficult at times, believe me, but that's all you can do. At the end of the day, the guy can point at the league table as vindication of his way of doign things.

I'm not bigging him up at all. I'm pointing out that as a fourth choice striker, he's not that bad an investment. He did very well last week, I'm happy to admit it. I'm also happy to admit that at the time we bought him, none of us were happy with the signing, none of us. As i said in the other post, that is the thing with MON, he does some weird, weird things, you just have to trust in him and believe that there is some method in his madness. Frustrating though it is (and it is)

Point 2. Marlon Harewood fourth choice striker last seen coming on and changing the game at Anfield, and scoring an overhead kick? Young at 9.65m is very, very cheap indeed. Seriously, if we'd paid double that, I'd still be happy. Davies isn't cheap. He's also starting to look like an extremely good footballer who'll last us a long time. Knight has played over half our games this season. Bar the Man United game, I can't think of any bollocks he dropped, and it didn't stop us getting to 5th place. Swapping the pointless, expensive, fat failure Baros for the magnificent Carew? Looks like a good "no money involved" deal to me. Point 1 - I'd still have Milner here. Come on mate, Harewood is crap! goal at Anfield or not, especially at £4m. Don't rate Knight either but it has to be said, he hasn't looked out of his depth this season in a team that's doing well so that one has turned out a lot better than expected. Harewood is a fourth choice striker. Who would we have got who would have been better than him, was available, and prepared to spend a lot of time sat on their arse on the bench? Same with Knight. He was a fourth choice CB, but as we didn't get a RB, Mellberg ended there which promoted Knight. So Knight got his chance, and he did ok. MON always said that when Curtis Davies got the shirt, he expected him to keep it, and he has done.

Great news. > Errrm, actually, on second thoughts, I shall say nowt.

Why would Villa want Routledge? Experienced no improvement at all in Spurs, and not exactly very young still. Does he play on the right? There's your answer. I doubt there is any truth in this. This window is a bastard. Nobody wants to sell. What a let down.
-
I support the team Carson currently plays for. I will be amazed (and a little shocked) if we pay more than 5m for him. Not because I don't think he is worth more (I do) but because his stock has fallen so far since the Croatia game.
-
One thing that can be said about your club. It is - at the moment - not even remotely boring. What i mean is, a couple of weeks ago, with all the names being thrown around, who on earth would have guessed at Keegan returning with Dennis Wise involved somewhere. It really is remarkable.

The Name Of The Bar Barret Stops At Near Villa Park?

Train from New St to Witton. Dead simple.
