  1. Did you see Setanta's coverage of our game against you last Monday? That's biased for you.
  2. Seriously story this but, couldn't help noticing: Is "svindelskandale" Norwegian for "swindle scandal"? How cool!

    Ashley Young

Don't get the impression that everything in the MON era has been sweetness and light. We still have only one full back of any description at the club, Mellberg patching things up at RB, and still have probably the smallest squad in the league. His tactical substitutions cost us two points at Spurs - if we'd not let 4-1 slip, we'd be 3rd now. He also signed Harewood, a puzzling signing at best, although Knight is looking like a decent one, against the odds. The thing I do like is the pace he's assembled in the squad, plus the fact that yesterday we had four lifelong Villa fans in the side, Agbonlahor, Moore, Knight and Gardener, and one more on the bench, all except Knight having been brought through the academy. For all his faults - and every manager has them - we've had to be patient and allow him to drop bollocks every now and then, and have faith in him moving things in the right direction, which he appears to be doing at the moment.
  4. No Agbonlahor against Everton on GotM?

    Ashley Young

I said this elsewhere tonight, but every time Young gets the ball, the whole ground are on their feet, every time. I love watching players like that. In the first half today he was absolutely untouchable, he really was. 9.65m is a lot of money, true, but you won't find a Villa fan who doesn't think he was worth every penny of it.
  6. On the left, mostly. What a player that boy is, so promising. He reminds me of Tony Morley (I say that all the time, but he does)
  7. Just back from the match. We're getting results without really playing well. Martin Laursen is an absolute colossus, just awesome again today. Ashley Young has everyone on their feet every time he starts a run. If we could get a right back and a goal scorer, we could have a good season.
  8. Jesus fuck, Everton. That was Ellis era. We dithered with the best of them.
  9. He's a good player, Lescott. The Start Trek faced mutant. I think he's a Villa fan, too.
  10. That's surprising to read. I actually thought he'd turn out to be one of the more astute signings made by anyone over the summer.
  11. Oh no, now I've gone and reminded myself of last night.
  12. It can't be anywhere near as bad as Setanta's fucking disgraceful coverage last night.
  13. The penalty. Plus consistently showing he has a first touch like a fucking JCB, and a 50p shaped head. What a toilet of a player, utterly utterly fucking rubbish. If we'd bothered buying full backs and a decent striker in the summer, we'd be challenging for Europe this season instead of a team everyone says are "not bad". Instead we get that waste of space. MON is a great manager, but in the transfer market, jesus, he's fucking dangerous.
  14. I can't. Jol is toast, still. Let's not forget, we left them off the hook at 4-1 down at home tonight, they were really very lucky. OK, Agbonlahor was o/s for one of our goals, but there was a cast iron penalty for us which we didn't get and Defoe persistently offside for their equaliser. Then Marlon put his big fucking mutant dinosaur head foot in, the stupid cunt. They've been very, very lucky indeed, and running around like they've won the league is probably a sign of how desperate things have got there, and makes them look a bit smalltime.
  15. He looked like he was shaking a bit. I counted at least four Woody Allen style pushings of the glasses up the nose (see Sammy Lee thread).
  16. He had no choice he arrived on here nice and early hoping to gloat, but then he couldn't hide when they started getting hammered as it would have been even more humiliating! That's a bit harsh, tbh.
  17. The coverage is like you'd expect if this was an England match, with Spurs being England. Marlon Harewood is a fucking disgrace, incidentally. I love MON, but there is a very, very large question mark over some of his transfer activity. What he sees in that fucking toilet of a player, I do not know.
  18. You'd think only one team had played in this cunting game to listen to Setanta. Cunts.
  19. I absolutely couldn't agree more. Nice chorus of Happy Birthday there. Will still be a draw, mind.
  20. Ha ha ha ha ha!!!!!!!!!!!!
  21. I've only just realised Luke Moore is on the pitch.
  22. Laursen is god like. We're still not very good though. Mellberg looks dodgy at RB, Knight is rubbish, and NRC gives the ball away far too much Ashley Young reminds me of Tony Morley, though, which is nice.
  23. I agree. If we had more than one full back of any description at the club, I think we could have a decent season. We haven't, though. That Maloney goal v Fulham has been the foundation to your start imo. We're genuinely not very good, we're the epitome of 8th or 9th place. The thing is, though, so are lots of teams at the moment. Funny start to the season thus far.
  24. Here we go, Defoe is absolutely bound to score. Players we are linked with but don't sign ALWAYS score against us. ALWAYS. Like Milner last season.
