Ah! Ever the drama queen!
-
This has been bothering me a bit for a while, but I've managed to keep a lid on it as, well, I am an outsider and what not. Anyway, can we change the title of this thread to "Other clubs' transfers" rather than the grammatically incorrect current title?
-
If Unai says it makes sense, it makes sense.
-
I said this the other day, and I will say it once more, so I can claim my ITK crown, but we are still very interested in Johnson. We won't pay 50m though.

Fundamentally, they're not going to be taking part in any European competitions any time soon unless they comply with FFP, and the only reason anyone is even talking about what they are doing is the insane "endless supply of money", FFP-immune batshit levels of spending they're engaging in. You can have one, but you can't have them both. European clubs are not stupid, they or UEFA - turkeys don't vote for christmas. Add to that, as a consumer spectacle, it will have zero value in Europe, no matter who they buy.

Carpethead putting together an impressive run of shit results already I see. He’ll start taking it out on random players and spouting meaningless managerial cliches soon. it will develop a tight spirit at Al-Etihad or whatever they’re called though. Players and fans all united in hating him.

It really is the most terrible shame.
-
Wow. Imagine going out and spending £45m on McTominay. The only thing that makes me think Everton won't do that is they won't have the money.
-
But if they ever get into a position to really directly compete - in terms of play in the same competitions - with European teams, they will have to play along with some measure of FFP, which makes paying Mbappé 300 billion dollars a day look somewhat questionable. This is all a bit Kerry Packer.
-
If we tried to spend 40m on Connor Gallagher, I would be distraught. That's the price we're paying for Diaby, who at least has one identifiable thing he does on the pitch.

When we were kids playing football, even though we were all Villa fans (and to Blues fans TF was a very very big deal when we were growing up) we used to try to recreate famous goals (like Phoenix from the Flames on Fantasy Football). The one we struggled to nail was Francis’s European Cup final goal, not just the goal but the gambol after.

Jesus Christ. it’s a fucking pre season friendly. Not only that it’s a very early one. Amazed at the amount of bed shitting going on. Players who have never played with their new teams before. It takes a while.
-
UEFA won't let it happen because they'll realise it's an existential threat to put Saudi teams into European competition (not to mention ethical questions, which i am sure will come to the fore, but they're not going to do anything to jeopardise the $$$). It's not in anyway a geographical question.
-
That's exactly what everyone was saying last season. As we conceded a total of 8 goals in the last 16 matches.
-
They're not stupid though, it'd would be a very daft thing to do in the long term. Not to mention politically dodgy as fuck.

Philogene-Bidace. Weird that, last year he said he wanted to be known as Philogene, but last night he had the whole name on his kit. Yes, he hasn't really had much coverage here in terms of the kids, it's all been about Archer and (Aaron) Ramsey. Emery seen something he likes, by the look of it.

Omari Kellyman did very well for us, despite looking about 14.
-
Sad news. Brilliant player, despite his obvious links with that rabble.
-
You're joking, right?
-
Me too, he looks like he has muscled up a bit. One of his problems was that he was always way too easily knocked off the ball, but he looked a lot sturdier last night (even taking into account obvious reduced intensity of a friendly).
-
At least your back up isn't as bad as ours.
-
Started watching, determined to watch all. Fell asleep on sofa at 2-0, woke up half time. Decided to sleep in spare room and watch second half on ipad. Woke up at 4am with ipad on chest, having seen no more of it. Watched the goals, read the reports this morning. Sounds like a decent kick about, that's exactly what the managers will have wanted.
-
Exactly this.
-
Arr, it's a training match.

Guys, I've got bad news, we might put some of our better players on soon* * I'm joking.
