McNulty is a simpering nothing of a 'reporter', but that's a great example of the football / media establishment and the contempt they show for fans. 36 points from 38 games, top scorer this season on 1 goal, scored 7 goals in 11 games, 17th in the table, getting worse. But, no, all those thousands of people who travel all around the country watching us, all those people who spend thousands on season tickets, all those people who have barely missed a match in decades, all those people for whom the club is a part of their life - they're all insane to except anything better than that, because Stevie G.

Hard to imagine anyone less likely to get it with the previous history between him and Purslow.
-
We finished 2nd in the first PL season. Between 96 and 01 we finished 4th, 5th, 7th, 6th, 6th O'Neill had us 6th, 6th, 6th Even O'Leary had us 6th. It's not about finishing in the top 7, it's about not being 17th. We haven't finished in the top half since 2011. We weren't even in the top flight for 3 of the years. This is EXACTLY the sort of discourse you guys will have heard from outsiders for a decade too.

Little room for improvement? Smith had us 16th when sacked, and we've got two mega rich owners who have pumped shit loads of money in. it would have taken almost nothing to improve us, but a year later, we are actually in 17th. The bloke is an absolute fucking chancer, any decent manager with a functioning shred of humanity and a functioning brain cell would have improved us. He's not mooking about with the Forest squad. He's got Philipe fucking Coutinho in his squad. He had every chance, and he totally totally fucked it up, mostly with his outdated 'tough man manager' routine.

Anyone who pays any attention to anything whatsoever that Martin Samuel shits out of his stupid fucking mouth deserves everything they get.
-
His media mates diving in to defend him is going to be awful. 36 points from 38 games. Top scorer this season is on 1 goal. joined with us in 16th, currently in 17th.

it got worse when Beale left but we weren’t exactly playing total football when he was here.
-
I’d do anything to bring the big man DS back but as you said, he went toes up a few years ago. Malfunctioning air fryer. Dreadful explosion *shakes fist at Kenwood*
-
It won't make any difference, he's fucking shit anyway.
-
They really clearly want the manager gone.
-
God, please make him go after this, please.
-
He's tried it literally about 30 times before and it never works but he keeps doing it.
-
I fucking hate this cunt, hate him.
-
I can't believe you're asking me that after my previous posts ;-) 'Straight choice, Gerrard or having liquefied dog shit poured into your eyeballs' would be a more appropriate question.
-
Alex Bruce is an absolute toxic cunt. I was particularly glad to see when Ollbeeeyun sacked Bruce that they were also sacking his piece-of-shit son at the same time.
-
We do not have a top six squad, but nor do we have a bottom six squad. Any manager with a modicum of talent and attention would get this squad performing better. I know you've improved yours, but look at the difference a progressive manager has made.

Yeah, he's gone full Bruce. The club had built a head of steam the last few years, since Smith took over and we did the ten wins in a row thing, there has been a much better club-fans connection, but Gerrard has pissed it all away. Apparently, Purslow had to convince Edens and Sawiris to employ Gerrard. Neither of those two - especially Edens who has other sports interests - tolerate failure gladly. I'm betting on a sacking at the weekend. It is quite clearly over, the away fans have turned on him - always the sign of end game - he's basically a football Liz Truss right now. I can't wait to see him go, he's fucking toxic.

Other than Luiz trying to score directly from corners, no. It really does smell of 'gee the lads up and send them out there', which is amazing if so as he has a huge coaching team. I actually don't think it is that, I think he's just wound up some players pointlessly (Mings, who is a big presence at the club), chosen a few who are utterly undroppable (McGinn, who has had about 2 good games EVER in the top flight), and then banished some more (Sanson, who had a good pre-season and looks very useful, Guilbert). The result is a clearly unhappy dressing room. Last night, Gerrard was straight down the tunnel, and of the players, Mings came right over to the away fans and talked with them. Gerrard will never understand people to the degree Mings does. His after match interviews are absolutely awful, last night's a great example "I need certain players to step forward and create the chances". No, we need YOU to fucking coach them to do that, you're the manager. Absolutely a dead man walking.
-
He's basically Paul Lambert with better players.
-
Ha, true, but I meant in terms of being young managers, rather than a true fucking relic like Bruce
-
worth remembering, Howe has way more experience than Gerrard, and it shows.

Emi Martinez was on Ben Foster’s podcast last year, before Beale left, and said he did (and ran) all the training, and described him as having an ‘unbelievable’ knowledge on football/ training etc
