  1. Those fucking morons should take a look at any Gerrard match with him sat or stood there fucking motionless with his 100 man backroom team sat on their arses - Gary Macallister genuinely not standing up at any point, or Critchley his number 2, then watch this - this guy basically coaches the team through the game, changes tactics where he needs to and kicks every ball. It's one match but fuck me, finally some life on the bench after that entitled media-darling hard man bullshit from Gerrard. https://www.avfc.co.uk/video/0_l593hpnk
  2. I think you'd struggle to find a club that has wasted more money on shit purchases than Everton, shocking. Our problem wasn't that we'd bought a load of shite, it was that Gerrard didn't get anything like the best out of them. I'll cut him a bit of slack for losing Kamara and Carlos to bad injuries quickly, that was bad luck, but fuck me, if you take out the bad result at your place, Aaron Danks got us a 4-0 demolition of Brentford and Emery has got us 3 points at home to Man United. That's 6 points from the last 9, which is a universe ahead of what Gerrard delivered.
  3. Yet more football industry closing ranks this weekend about Gerrard, I saw. "Why didn't the players do this for him?" I'll tell you why. Because he played the wrong set up constantly, he never ever changed tactics from week to week let alone during the game, he picked fights with players to prove he's a hard man, and he drained almost every fucking inch of positivity between the club, players and fans inside 12 months. The bloke is a fucking Bruce replicant in the making.
  4. I think what he's done this last year is nothing short of phenomenal. Yes, you've spent a bit of money but not really that much, not Man City levels. What you are is extremely well coached, but I think it is also the huge amount of confidence that you play with that makes a massive difference. Really impressive.
  5. Great performance from us today, we looked coached - before the match AND during it. This fixture is awful for us. We won it in 1995, which i wasn't at, but i was there the previous time to that we won it - 1984. Didier Six's one amazing performance. 38 fucking years. At last.
  6. Absolutely. I am of the age where that round badge makes me think of winning a league title, a European cup and two league cups in 7 years*, so definitely. I think this vote will go on age lines. Won't mean anything to the kids. * although relegation in 1987, not so good
  7. Good ebening eberybody. I didn't see the match, so have no comment. Other than a sad face This is why we have a new manager starting next week.
  8. Incidentally, when I go on about Gerrard, remember, I thought it was a stupid appointment (and said so on here at the time) but was absolutely happy to give him a chance, and probably gave him longer than the majority of our fans did. I am the voice of moderation when i talk about him. That is how mind-numbingly fucking horrible his regime was. Like being transported back to 1984.
  9. It was sold out, we haven't failed to sell out a home game for ages now. Just ST holders not showing, I guess.
  10. Great appointment. Was starting to get a bit concerned about ambition given how long they stuck with Gerrard, but to ship the cunt out on the Thursday immediately after the match ended was an impressive start, and to get a top level replacement in by the Monday is going some. Only one match but saw in the performance yesterday that Gerrard - despite what his media fan club say - has been utterly fucking throttling this squad for a long time. Proper formation, players knowing what they need to do, non-performers dropped, all these things that Gerrard just didn't understand, or want to, because he just wanted it all to be about him. I just don't get some people. The world and his wife could see we needed to be playing 4231 and not with Luiz as the sole DM so he can get forward, and what happens? Has his best game for us in ages. Not only that, the radical step of playing Leon Bailey on the left rather than the right also changes things hugely. We're not going to become world beaters overnight but getting rid of that wanker feels like a definite step in the right direction.
  11. Jamie O'Hara sticking up for Gerrard in true English-manager-worship mode So, basically it was because they didn't like Gerrard. Nothing to do with Danks dropping players out of form, players who Gerrard never dropped, and nothing to do with him playing 4231, which we've been begging Gerrard to play for ages, yet he never ever changed things.
  12. Not as much as I woud Since they got promoted the last time their fans have been unbearable cocks. They've manufactured a 'massive' rivalry with us which coincided with them finishing above us in the league for the first time in about 45 years. It's the same 'rivalry' Coventry have with us, entirely one-sided. All we've had from them when they've finished above us is 'mind the gap', which the dimwit yam yams think is hilarious.
  13. They'll probably just say it's Gerrard's side and due to his work.
  14. This was really nice from Ings.
  15. This is exactly the difference. Gerrard too fucking stubborn to see this. Also too stubborn to go 4231 when the world and his wife could see it was the obvious set up.
  16. worth pointing out, Villa under Gerrard and Beale were better than without Beale but at the same time, far from great.
  17. Carragher coming out punching for his mate in the Torygraph today.
  18. It wasn't. Bear in mind, this is the cunt that pretty much all season has been a 'walk straight down the tunnel, fuck the away fans' wanker.
  19. Benitez isn't getting the job, because Purslow is probably the person he hates most in football. I can't think of anyone in the game less likely to get the job. Agbonlahor makes himself out as Mr Aston Villa in his new media career but was a disgraceful fucking leech for the last five years of his career with us, I hate that idiot. He's a fucking moron. The suggestion that 'get out of our club' (and believe me, the fans only turned on him vocally two games ago, it's not exactly a torrent of abuse) is crossing a line is beyond a joke.
  20. I don't remember that at all. I don't even remember him coming close to our job tbh.
  21. Apparently he was sacked before getting on the team bus. Sawiris getting so angry and storming out at half time last night, followed shortly after by Purslow, that's not a good sign!
  22. Yeah you may be right, but as you say, it's fucking dreadful. I can't believe these media chumps not understanding how he got sacked. And then that's only based on the points - there's also the toxic fucking character, the refusal to ever acknowledge the away fans, the projection of himself as the most important thing, the appointment of McGinn (the least captain material you'll find) captain, the blatant throwing of players under the bus every week, the dreadful lack of anything that looked like coaching or tactics, the needless ruck he picked with Mings, the bizarre ostracisation of Sanson and Guilbert (been training with the kids). And there's loads more of that sort of thing.
  23. Although getting it because it's Gerrard is one thing, getting it because it was Steve Fucking Bruce was, as we both know, another fucking level.
  24. Blimey. Almost all his (enormous) backroom staff binned as well. This clearly wasn't something that they decided to do last night.
