Unfortunately it will probably just mean that when any of our games are on ESPN they will be scouring the game for other 'incidents' to highlight to the FA. -
Are people taking it as a fact that there was really a deal in the offing for Best? Just about everything which was reported about the deal was contradicted within the same hour.

January transfer aperture ceases to exist!
LoveItIfWeBeatU replied to Benwell Lad's topic in Football
On the positive side we didn't sell any of our players, we got rid of Alan Smith and bought Cisse. On the negative side we could really have done with a centre back. Overall, a much better than expected January transfer window for NUFC. Some strange transfer business by Spurs. -
So here's a summary of what was reported in the last hour regarding Best: - Best is going to Celtic. NUFC have accepted an offer for Best. Actually it's on loan. Best isn't going to Celtic. NUFC haven't accepted an offer for Best. Best doesn't want to go to Celtic. Typical Sky deadline day bluster and bullshit isn't it? How can anyone take them seriously?

According to http://www.nufc.com/2011-12html/squad.html James Tavernier's contact with NUFC expires in June 2012.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-16760925 Speed's mother describing him as a "half-empty person" and "certainly no optimist" is an eye opener. It's not how you would have expected him to be.

I really would like to see who is on this 'Panel' of theirs. I don't know but it appears the likes of Alan Hansen, Mark Lawrenson, Ray Stubbs, etc. have a huge amount of input into the FA panels decision making. -

All clubs who have players banned by the FA's 'Trial by TV/Media' method should send a DVD of the huge number of similar incidents that haven't been punished by the FA and ask them to explain themselves. -

no chance he could have a look at the deliberate elbow in the face on williamson aswell, also the tackle on cabaye that should've been a red aswell. If Cabaye gets done NUFC should demand the FA look at the elbow on Williamson which was much more clear cut (literally). Trial by TV is a joke. Unless every game is reviewed after the event for misdemeanour's (using the TV images recorded at every game up and down the divisions (broadcast on TV or not)) the FA shouldn't be able to only punish those broadcast on Sky, ESPN, BBC or ITV. -
A steal for the selling club or the buying club?

NUFC should have held this news back until just before the window closed. Depending on how the rest of the transfer window goes for NUFC this announcement (if it had been made at the last minute) would have made sure it ended on a high.

Apart from 2009–10 when he scored 15 goals Cabaye hasn't really been a regular goal scorer. He averages around 5 goals a season in all competitions. Stats: - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yohan_Cabaye -

I hope Ashley sends that private jet to be ready and waiting on the tarmac to collect Ba and Cissé as soon as they finish their last game.

It doesn't take a tactical genius to know how to play when the opposition don't have any centre backs.
