  1. If "Joelinton is a confidence player" he arrived at NUFC with no confidence and gained no confidence from scoring a goal. If his confidence is so fragile he's useless. He played the majority of the available minutes last season. He was confident enough to keep trying every game, it just never improved his performances. I'd love him to prove me wrong but I've seen nothing from him to give me any confidence (ironic) in him.
  2. @MoneyMikeAshley seems to be very well informed (and funny). I'm more inclined to believe them than any of the other commentators.
  3. Joselu was in Wyscouts team of the season based on stats!
  4. Will the real Mike Ashley please stand up? https://twitter.com/MoneyMikeAshley/status/1304026798884352001
  5. I don't think Mike Ashley suing the Premier League will definitely result in the take over going through. What it will do is make the Premier League have to explain themselves. They are painted into a corner. All their reasons for rejecting the take over are compromised. Piracy? Where does it say anything about that in the O & D test? Human Rights? What about the Sheffield United and Man City owners? The O & D test is supposed to be applied every year. Can't be owned by a state? What about Man City? Are the Premier League going to slag off Saudi Arabia in court? Good luck selling those TV rights in Saudi. Also, this rejection ruling will put others off from buying a Premier League club as when they come to sell, the buyer they've found may not pass the opaque O & D test. They'll be stuck with an asset they don't want. I like the idea of the Premier League being dragged through the courts.
  6. I'm trying to interpret what George is saying here. Is he saying that they were quietly getting things done behind the scenes but Ashley has fucked it all with his statement ?
  7. I really hope Mike Ashley does sue the Premier League. Even if it doesn't result in the takeover going through it will be good to see the Premier League squirm and have their "dirty laundry washed in public". Are the Premier League going to say in court that Saudi Arabia aren't "fit and proper" after passing the Man City, Sheffield, Chelsea, etc. owners (the O & D test is supposed to be applied every year)?
  8. Reminds me of this line from 'The Chronicle of Riddick' Go on Mike, sue the bastards!
  9. We're surprised in a way that NUFC have made signings but when you look at them, 3 didn't cost a transfer fee, we absolutely had to get a goal scorer and Lewis fits the parameters for young, British with the potential to be sold for a profit in future. Not that different to the usual transfer policy.
  10. You guys aren't down with the kids. The official NUFC Twitter account is referring to ASM's tweet destroying a Sunderland fan. That's the win they mean.
  11. Am I the only one that doesn’t get this? "W" for Win.
  12. Nope - none at all. Not in the top division, anyway. To be fair, scoring 20 goals a season in the Premier League is usually only achieved by 2 or 3 players each season. It's also usually only achieved by strikers who play for the top 2 or 3 teams. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_top_Premier_League_goal_scorers_by_season
  13. I wonder which fans of Premier League teams are actually looking forward to the new season? The newly promoted teams fans probably are. Chelsea, Man City, Liverpool, Man U and Arsenal fans probably. Around half the league's teams fans probably aren't looking forward to it due to a variety of reasons: - probably being in a relegation battle, mid table mediocrity, not being able to watch the games live (and possibly not on TV either), etc.

  16. To be fair to Bruce, last season through "bad luck" he managed to get NUFC down to one fit centre back from the six senior centre backs in the squad. Another centre back could be required over the course of a season.

  18. I recently read Kevin Keegan's autobiography "My Life in Football". All was well until the section about his time working at BeIN where he says something like "Richard Keys and Andy Gray are the absolute best in the business".
  19. We'd probably score more goals if we started one of our centre backs upfront. Pretty much all of them have an equal or better goal scoring record than our 'strikers' (apart from Gayle).
  20. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/53911105 Messi rocking it old school with the communication method. He should have sent a telegram or maybe even a message carrying pigeon.
