It does seem a rash move. Chelsea fans went mad when Claudio Ranieri was sacked but then Jose Morhinio replaced him and they stopped complaining. Who knows who Man City will end up with. I don't feel sorry for Sven though. He will be well compensated and won't struggle to find a new job (if he wants one being that he is already filthy rich).

I'd be very happy if this happened. To be fair to Smith, I may think that he is an awful striker but I do believe that he wants to play games rather than sit on the bench so I could see him leaving us for Rangers, even if his wages are cut.
-
How funny would it be if Man U drew with West Ham and Keegan decided to give the fringe players a run out against Chelsea? He could then say "I'd love it if they beat you Alex." Or we could play Alan Smith up front against Chelsea because Man U sold him to us so he must be good.

If we go for Adriano we might as well go for Ronaldinho too. Keegan's gonna sort you out lads.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/gossip_and_transfers/7369553.stm Everton striker Andy Johnson is set to leave Goodison Park and West Ham, Manchester City and Newcastle could be interested. (News of the World) Celtic, Newcastle and Aston Villa are vying for the signature of Bournemouth's Sam Vokes. (News of the World)

Spurs were expected to do well in the league this season. What happened? Like the saying goes "Good team on paper but we play on grass".
-
Possibly but it isn't like every player new to the Premier League hits the ground running. For example, look at all the quality European players the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool have bought who haven't performed. There are no guarantees.
-
We beat Spurs to the signature of Duff. Hopefully Karma will return the favour and Modric will be for Spurs what Duff has been for us - crap. This may turn out like when we missed out on Zenden and got the much better Robert. Plenty more players to choose from. At least now we won't worry about Modric getting injured in Euro 2008. Some may even hope he does get injured now.
-
If we do sign him we will watch Euro 2008 shitting ourselves in case he gets injured.
-
If you accept the rumour that Ronaldinho may be willing to go to Man City, would Newcastle not want to try to sign him?

Newcastle win Northumberland Senior Cup. Woohoo!

Thanks for the updates. Newcastle winning on penalties? Whatever next? -
Tell Niall Quinn this. His next statement will be "Don't buy Sunderland shirts as it puts money into the Newcastle United Owner's pockets!" When Quinn said rivals I assumed he was talking about Wigan and JJB Sports.

Keegan mentioned a while ago that it was crazy that a club of Newcastle's size only has one recognised left back (possibly during his radio Newcastle interview). I find it strange that he is happy to go on record that he want another left back but doesn't mention needing a right back. We only have Beye and Carr for right back and Carr's contract expires in the Summer. Surely Keegan doesn't rate Carr enough to give him a new contract?

Opera singer!?!? My arse. He was just some piss head who won the Karoke competition at the Blackett Arm. He did get it pumped like & the black white cards were a good idea as well, it looked awesome. According to NUFC.co.uk Graeme Danby, senior principal with the English National Opera and Professor of Music at the University of Northumbria.

3 more points (4 taking goal difference into account just to be sure) and Newcastle will be North East 'Top Dogs'. You know, the 'competition' you only ever hear about on 'The 3 Legends' on Century FM when Sunderland or Middlesbrough are ahead of Newcastle.

I saw a few of them holding them. I always read 'FTM' as 'Fuck the mackems'.

This may explain why some people arrive late, leave 10 minutes before half time and then leave 10 minutes from the end.

I thought our current goalkeeping kit was based on Iron Man. http://blog.ugo.com/images/uploads/ironman_mk3armor_300.jpg

Adidas and Nike (btw whats the correct way to say it "Nyk" of "Nykee") make the best kits, anything else is sub-standard imo. It's pronounced "Nykee" in the USA and "Nyk" in the UK. Adidas is pronounced "A-di-das" in the UK and "A-dee-das" in the USA.

I remember reading that Mike Ashley bought shares in Adidas but then sold them a few months later for £30 million profit. I don't know if he owns any Adidas shares anymore.

I voted for Souness mainly because of the way the bastard hung on for his pay off long after he should have gone. Whatever we think of Ruud Gullit, at least he had the honor to resign and not take a pay off.
