  1. I know they're just rumours but it annoys me to read in the media the likes of Milner and N'Zogbia being linked with moves away from NUFC supposedly to cut the wage bill. I very much doubt either of those players are on anything near the wages of Smith or Duff. I know who I'd rather get rid of. Smith and Duff are on massive wages and contribute next to nothing. Milner and N'Zogbia are probably on average wages and do a lot more on the pitch than Smith and Duff.
  2. I was slightly happy that a Northern club won the play-offs until I saw that Hull's manager was in league with the Devil: -
  3. My memory of him is that he always thought he had more time on the ball than he did I.e. He'd get the ball then look up to pick out a pass and in the meantime an opposition player would come up and take the ball off him. "Man on" was Viana's 'song/chant'.
  4. I was under the impression that NUFC had already had all the money for the shirt sponsorship deal up front from Northern Rock. £25 Million with most of it going on Owen wasn't it? So it's not tax payers money sponsoring us.

    Martins

That was my point. NUFC should employ Alexander Hleb as our "It's shit living in London" spokesperson. We could get him to talk to our foreign targets.

    Martins

Bullshit story. To those wanting to sell Martins, do you honestly think we would be able to buy better?
  7. Great news for the Newcastle police (unless they wanted overtime), council street cleaners, train passengers and anyone wanting to go to Newcastle on the day of the match.
  8. It's a lose lose situation for Newcastle. Cancel his contract and we've lost £5.3 million (although he is probably worthless now as no other club would buy him) or keep him and get a load of bad press.
  9. It's a tough question. When Newcastle bought him they knew that Dabo incident was being investigated so you would assume a clause regarding the outcome of that would be in the contract. As for the McDonald's fight, it sounds like he committed a vicious attack but we don't know what provocation there was. Cancelling his contract would mean Newcastle lose a player they spent £5.3 million on but we'd save money on wages. He won't be worth much if anything after he gets out of prison so it's not like we could sell him. The option really is cancel his contract or wait until he is out of prison then play him. A lot will depend on how the Dabo court case goes. If he's found guilty of that God knows what sentence he'll get. You can guarantee that all the media will demand that we 'sack' him. Thanks to Sam Allardyce for buying him when everyone knew he was trouble. I don't understand why he cost £5.3 million anyway. Did we have any competition for him?
  10. "28 goals in 32 club appearances this season" That is one hell of a good strike rate for a player in a decent league.
  11. Second only to Alan Smith in the list of players I'd like to see leave. I don't understand why anyone would think he would be worth keeping as a squad player. It's not like you can throw him on and expect him to change a game in our favour is it? He carries next to no threat. His shooting is weak and inaccurate. How many assists has he got in his time here? Might as well send on someone like the much cheaper Lua Lua. He couldn't do any worse than Duff.
  12. A joke of a rumour. Man U want Owen according to press. Ferguson denies interest. Press keep running with the story anyway. Rumour of Saha being in Newcastle to add weight to Owen leaving for Man U. With everyone's mobile having a camera built in these days it's amazing nobody ever has photographic proof for these 'X spotted at Y' stories.
  13. Why would Mike Ashley have wanted Alan Smith? Your not basing your opinion on Mike wearing a '17 Smith' shirt are you?
  14. Garth likes to use positive discrimination in his selections.
  15. Pretty much it. The sale of Smith will be just like making a major signing. Perhaps NUFC could open St James' like they did for the signing of Owen to see how many people we could get to turn up to unveil the selling of Alan Smith. I reckon it could be a full house. Invite the Sky cameras along too. Maybe an open top bus through the city to celebrate it.
  16. My hopes are: - Owen signs an extended deal (we won't be able to buy better). Martins signs an extended deal (without a buy out clause). Some stupid clubs buy the shite that is Smith and Duff off us. We buy at least one player who is good at taking free kicks and corners.
  17. James Harper has scored a few although I don't think we'd want him. How has Nicky Shorey done this season? I'd get him if he was cheap. Kapo?
  18. Injured is the rumour. He wasn't in the training pictures from earlier in the week on nufc.co.uk.
  19. Hopefully he's smiling because he's got himself a new club the fucking pile of steaming shite that he is!
  20. I also hope that any of the clubs that may want to buy them off us haven't seen them play for Newcastle. Their names alone will guarantee interest. Here's hoping! It just goes to show how poorly some clubs research their potential transfer targets.
  21. I also hope that any of the clubs that may want to buy them off us haven't seen them play for Newcastle.
  22. I hope Lowes has inside knowledge! Instead of saying "signing Owen on a new contract" is the most important business of the Summer, Keegan should have said "Selling Alan Smith would be the most important business of the Summer".
  23. Hopefully this game will be the straw that breaks the camel's back in finally persuading Keegan to try to get rid of Smith and Duff.
