Is N'Zogbia's exit inevitable? (Maybe not - Page 24!)
LoveItIfWeBeatU replied to TRon's topic in Football
Has anyone got photographic proof of N'Zogbia smiling? I can't remember ever seeing him smile. I'd love to know where N'Zogbia and his arsehole agent thought N'Zogbia was going to go in January. There has never been a serious effort made to buy him by other clubs that we know of. I like N'Zogbia as a player but he needs to make some big decisions. -
The poor exchange rate for GB Pound Sterling versus the Euro will mean previously 'cheap' players from Europe will now be deemed a lot more expensive.
-
Apparently Aston Villa have an option to extend Wilfred Bouma's contract.

You all need to watch and listen to Martins using Southern shit stirring Press scum eyes and ears. Only then will you see what Martins really means by his smiling, grining, laughing, dancing, somersaulting, declarations of happiness, etc.

I've found this but you have to register: - http://www.givemefootball.com/transferdirectory/proregister.cfm It seems to only cover PFA players. It has a ringing endorsement from "Sam Allardyce, Manager : Newcastle United"! Also, found this list dated 27/02/08, using Google. I'm not sure how accurate it is: - http://www.talkceltic.net/forum/celtic-chat/33092-summer-bosmans.html Jorquera Sylvinho Edmilson Santiago Ezquerro Jose Izquiredo Bernardo Romeo Pasqual Cygan Robert Pires Wes Brown Sami Hyypia Harry Kewell Hilario Zoltan Gera Patrick Muller Bernard Mendy Mario Yepes Sylvain Armand Johan Micoud Abdelaziz Kamara Jonathan Perina Ludovic Magnin Daniel Bierofka Zlatan Bajramovic Gustavo Varela Pierre Wome Jurcia Vranjes Ivan Klasnic Athrison Carsten Ramelow Dmitri Bulykin Veljko Paynovic Maxi Rodriguez Ewerthon Loukas Vyntra Turaci Soti Kyrgiakos Alexander Meier Javier Zanetti Olivier Dacourt Hernan Crespo Luis Jimenez Santiago Solari Antonio Cassano Pavel Nedved Nuno Frechaut Ivica Krizanac Anthony Seric Ezequiel Gonzalez Tomas Sivok Angelo Bassinas Thiago Motta Juan Valera Nuno Valente Danny Murphy Phillipe Christinval Nobby Solano Wilfred Bouma Roman Bednar Lee Wallace Kanu Geovanni Dietmar Hamann Kasper Schmeichel Fabio Laverani Tomas Ujfalusi Eugeni Aldonin Marcos Assuncao Kanga Akale Vadim Karlaschuk Antonio Nunez Jorge Larena Vlad Munteanu Mama Bagayoko Alan Rochat Jerko Luko Olivier Veigneau Sebastian Kehl Philip Degen Thomas Chatielle Guillame Gillet Sherif Ekramy Edgar Davids Sammy Kuffour Puis Ikedia Leo Andrea Luiz Marat Izmailov Moura Pinherio Derlei Mark Fitzpatrick Ross McCormack Guillaume Beuzelin

That's the second time I've heard Keegan mention signing Bosman players since his return. Does anyone know if there is a list of players available on Bosman frees in the Summer?
-
If I had been sacked and treated the way he had (paid something like £4m to £6m for 6 months work) I would be one of the happiest men alive!
-
"Keegan is the Messiah" He's not the Messiah. He's a very naughty boy! There is only one Intertoto place for the Premiership. Apparently Man City and Aston Villa have applied to be in it so the team that finishes the highest qualifies.
-
Keegan has said "Newcastle only have one recognised left back (Enrique) and that's not enough for a club this size." The same will apply for right back when Carr leaves (as he surely will) at the end of his contract in the summer. So that makes it a right back and a left back on Keegan's shopping list for the Summer.

Ameobi is easily worth £5m in a world where Chopra costs £5m. Also, both of those players score the occasional goal which is more than can be said for our £6m 'striker' Alan Smith.

If N'Zogbia is a cert for leaving, wouldn't he be in the shop window and playing a bit more? And where would he go to? I don't think Spurs would want him since they signed Gilberto, I don't think he's good enough for the scum and the spanners have a few options for LM already. I can't see him being signed by a London team. I asked the same question earlier: - When Keegan arrived he told us N'Zogbia had told him he wants to leave. Where does N'Zogbia think he is going to go is the question. -

Even if N'Zogbia does leave I think Keegan is planning on getting rid of Duff. N'Zogbia is supposedly nailed on certain to be leaving and yet he still gets on the bench while Duff doesn't. -

Have there been any rumours as to where he would go? The last time he was off it was to Fulham which doesn't seem likely now. Arsenal were supposedly interested in him years ago but that's gone all quiet. If Tottenham were interested that was during Jol's time. Now that have a new manager, who says they are still interested? I suppose he could end up at West Ham like all the other ex-Newcastle players. -

If he is going I hope NUFC announce to the world that he is on the transfer list and we try to drum up a bidding war for him. For some reason when we sell players we seem to take the first offer without considering the possibility that other clubs may be interested. -
He may be back in the Summer. He's not been starting games for Lazio. According to Sky's statistics he has only played 3 times for Lazio and two of them appearances are from the bench. http://www.skysports.com/football/player/0,19754,11862_222175,00.html He went to Lazio to try to guarantee being picked for Euro 2008 Czech squad. I bet he's regretting going to Lazio and moaning about the Newcastle weather now!

All these 'journalists' who are constantly writing anti-Mike Ashley/NUFC stories are lucky Mike Ashley isn't the kind of billionaire who appear in James Bond films: - Mike Ashley to henchmen "Take care of Mr Custis, be sure that some harm comes to him!" -
If you picked a squad using the best players from all the non-top four teams it would be possible to assemble a team that would more than likely break into the top four. We may have to gamble a bit sometimes like we did on the non-obvious choice players like Ginola, Robert and Bellamy but there are players that the top four teams don't spot.

What's Ashley doing - lost 129Mill on the markets last week?

Mike Ashley would only have lost that money on shares if he sold them now. The shares will probably recover over the next few years. Anyway, £129m represents something like 10% of his personal wealth. Newcastle winning yesterday has kicked up a hornets nest of negative stories in the media today: - Newcastle striker Obafemi Martins is on the verge of handing in a transfer request if things don't improve at the club over the summer. (News of the World) Newcastle owner Mike Ashley has lost a reported £129m gambling on financial markets sparking fears he could be about to sell the club. (News of the World) Meanwhile Martin Jol has emerged as the leading contender to take over at Newcastle - if Kevin Keegan fails. (Sunday Mirror)

Aye that's what I was thinking. I'm sure Ashley told Keegan how much he had to spend when he took the job, I think it's also believable that Keegan would have told some of his coaching staff what was going on and how much he has available, the likes of Terry Mac are still close to Beardsley so it's not as if he isn't well connected within the club, that's without mentioning him having a private box at the ground and him doing publicity work for the club. I don't doubt that there will be plenty of Mike Ashley's money for transfers (maybe even the £100m mentioned) but why would he tell anyone, including Keegan, the exact figure? From what Keegan has said of his meeting with Mike he was left in no doubt that plenty of funds would be available. Regarding what Beardsley says, he also said at one of these fan events that Steve Sidwell was definitely joining us last season and that didn't happen. I'm sure he thought it was true when he told people but it didn't end up happening. I thought it was common knowledge that Sidwell had agreed to join us when Roeder was here. As for Ashley and how much we have to spend, surely Keegan would want a rough figure to know what he's got to work with? Yes but wasn't Sidwell supposed to have signed something? I don't think they would have put in the contract that he'll only come to Newcastle if Roeder is manager. Anyway, the point was he didn't join us so everything Beardsley says isn't always 100% correct. Keegan may have said to Ashley "How much money will I have for transfers?" and Ashley may have said "Don't worry about that, you give us a list of who you want and we'll see what we can do." Sidwell didn't sign anything because you can't sign a pre contract to move from one Premiership club to another, he agreed verbally to sign for us when his contract was out and even came up twice for talks at the training ground while still a Reading player, If Sidwell told Roeder he'd join then you can't blame him for not sticking to that agreement once he'd been sacked. To suggest Beardsley is unreliable because of that is just picking at things, as is claiming Ashley didn't tell Keegan how much he had to spend just because you don't believe it. I'm not going to have an argument over: - 1. A player who said he would sign for us but didn't. 2. If Mike Ashley told Keegan an exact figure he would give him to spend.

What happened to the story from the Keegan phone-in that said Beardsley was working at Middlesbrough? I can't imagine Mike Ashley walking up to Beardsley and saying "Peter, I can't keep this to myself any longer and I must confide in someone. I'm going to give Kevin £100m to spend in the Summer."
