I’d also add to this that last season, when we were playing once a week, it wasn’t exactly a case of us playing well and dominating games. There were some very sketchy performances and we fell over the line due to Villa more than a case of us being decent. I hope that doesn’t come across that I’m trying to diminish what we achieved, but the above is true. I don’t have any faith that next season is going to be much of an improvement on this one tactically, Europe or not.

Feels like our season is varnigh over now to me. Opportunity to get into the CL has been pissed away and I cannot see us winning enough games to finish in the top 7 and get a EL/EC slot. I worry we waste another summer to then see the same predictable 4-3-3 with that gap between the midfield and defence next season. Only this time it’ll be with worse players. Agree with this. Until our goal it was electric, quietened down a little after. Second half there were still people streaming in 5/10 mins afterwards, atmosphere never really going due to that and the bad display on the pitch.

How can you absolve Howe of any blame for the second half? It’s a common theme that we come out for the second half and look absolutely shit. It’s been a common theme for well over a year too, as Howe apparently had to address it at half time in the final. Conceding late goals is another huge issue. Whats been done to address any of it?
