But then you keep a player who has made it clear publically he won’t play. His value depreciates and the player is hanging around like a dark cloud, all media attention on him etc. It was a horrid situation, I don’t blame the club for selling but we do need to learn from it. We looked weak because of the way we handled it in the build up to selling him.

Give me them over clubs like Brighton, Brentford, Bournemouth. Aye they’re there on merit, but they’re boring and there’s just no bite or edge to their matches. Away days in Glasgow would also be fun. Cannot see it ever happening though.

Mitchell wasn’t hugely wrong about our transfer policies but was a complete bellend about it. Hopefully Wilson shares those opinions but goes about fixing it in a way that doesn’t decimate relationships at the club. Needs to be a summer of change.

Ramsdale is a liability in the set piece era we find ourselves in. Pope is a liability in the “playing out from the back” era we find ourselves in. It’s just about who is going to make less goal causing errors. Pope is conceding soft and outrageous goals pretty much weekly now.

Agree with you but don’t personally absolve Howe from any blame there. We don’t know any of the facts but I think Howe is happy to have the likes of Pope, Trippier, Burn, Murphy still heavily involved in the team. Also we targeted Elanga for more than one window, clearly one of Howe’s targets. its been a long season, despite us doing well in the cups and Europe I haven’t enjoyed it at all. Big changes are needed as we cannot go on like this. I’m not saying change the manager either, but there needs to be some ruthlessness in the summer, and there needs to be a charge in the type of player we sign. We need players that will come in and upgrade us. The money we spent in the summer and only Thiaw has come in and been a marked improvement.
