You're always spot on in regards to us and i don't like disagreeing with you but on this occasion i have to disagree. Ekotto was superb last season and i rate him highly. Ekotto wasn't a better fullback than Lee Young-Pyo when he pushed him out of the team. Probably still isn't when the latter is now 34 and playing in the Saudi league. No, I'm not bitter

I think he'll start out as an impact sub for a while. May not be wise to have him slot in immediately for Nolan/Jonas/Routledge in the team. Tiote, on the other hand, should be a fairly immediate replacement for Smith.

He's got the talent to be a double-digits striker in the prem but he just stopped being bothered for some reason. He's certainly not terrible, just unfit and unmotivated. Decent 4th choice striker.

I think it's more general than that, just him being a difficult personality and not meshing with the new dressing room posse. Always struck me as a bit of a nut, and it was fairly telling how the rest of the squad gravitated towards Carroll after their bust-up.
