  1. N'Zogbia's time here. Reconstructed by memory. Brought into the side in 2005-2006 has a wonderful season. Goes to his head. Media links him to Arsenal in the summer (young, French, talented, 2+2=5,) he believes it. Goes to his head. Club buys Duff. Sensible move. We weren't about to let a 19 year old be our only recognized left winger, and at the time Duff seemed like a crazy bargain. 2006-2007: Duff gets injured, Zog gets run. Is mostly s*** with some moments of brilliance. Winter comes, starts making noises about wanting to leave. Falls out with Roeder, barely plays for rest of season. More want-away whinging in the summer. 2007/2008: Forced to alternate LW/LB because of Fat Sam's awkward 4-3-3. Scores a great goal at Boro and then disappears for the rest of the season. Keegan doesn't seem to rate him either. Out-and-out whinging reaches a fever pitch in the off season. Leading to where we are today. I will not remember him fondly.
  2. As someone posted elsewhere (might have been on the N'Zogbia thread), he has had runs in the team in his preferred position, which have started well enough, but eventually the dummy has been spat again for some reason. Oh sure he might have been GREAT if we let him be the only left-sided midfielder in the squad for the entirety of the career. He had competition, he couldn't take it. Cry me a river.
  3. Can we have the rick-roll now, please?

    We now need

Until Owen got fit. Aye he missed maybe a handful of games under Keegan before he figured out how to play three strikers at once. Boo hoo.

He's had nothing but love and affection heaped on him for all the time he's been here. He's never been left out of the first team when fit. If he's indeed faking injury to avoid playing... That would be the lowest of the low.
  6. I love how when we get injury crises, they're always concentrated on one position to maximize the damage. It was centre backs in 2006-2007, centre mids/strikers this year.
  7. Just hope it doesn't come crashing down again on Sunday
  8. At this point, he's just a relatively pacy headless chicken winger, the kind that are a dime a dozen in the French league. He's squandered any promise he ever might have had with that retarded attitude of his. There's a chance that he'll do decently for Wigan this year, just like he was alright in his first opportunity for us. But come the summer, the merry-go-round starts all over again. More likely he'll be average and disappear abroad in a year or two.
  9. Cut the guy some lack, man. He's served us for 11 years and has been our most consistent performer in that time. He deserves somewhere where he'll win things. Anyway, hats off to the negotiators. Much better than the Shepherd/Hall regime. Careful! To be fair, Shepherd has to be credited with the monumental achievement of getting money for Boumsong and Amdy Faye.

I'd have another CM first, get butt out of the first team forever. Oba/Shola coming back soon in the striking department.
  11. If we can get 6m and a player for N'Zogbia, surely we're not about to let Given go for 8
  12. I agree. Bruce will play him on the wing every week and he'll get better as a result. He'll do just fine until the summer when he throws a fit over Bruce blocking his "dream move" to Arsenal.
  13. Literally went at his quotes. Fucking amazing business, good money + a decent player for that twat. All this euphoria today will prepare me for Shay leaving on the weekend.
  14. He said: “It is a club that has targets and is much more ambitious than Newcastle. mackems.gif I love you Charlie. Hope you have fun.
  15. Good to see he's ending up at a big club just like he wanted.
  16. Got a feeling there'll be quite a bit of whinging about net spend after this window as well
  17. I suppose I just expect more from my legends than to jump ship to a mid-table club in the middle of the worst relegation fight in our Premiership history. Could this honestly not have waited until the summer?
  18. Money. That's really why it's hard to have respect for Given in this move. If a top 4 side were in for him fine, thanks for a job well done hope you go win a medal. But there is no promises that Man City will be in the top 8 next year, never mind the top 4. For all we know Shay could be replaced by the time they get anywhere near the Champions League. It's all about the money. And that's what makes it so disappointing.
  19. This was exactly the situation the M'Bia deal was in for us. We should tell Man City to pony up or fuck off just like Toulouse did.
  20. So more bodies for our squad and screwing over one of our relegation rivals at the same time. More power for us.
  21. Don't think anyone on here has much of an interest aside from where we finish. Sadly, I haven't been looking at the top half of the table for a long, long while now.
  22. Kinnear is a fucking idiot, but it can't be a coincidence that the little pathetic twat has fallen out with just about every manager he's worked with in his forgettable career here.
  23. Let's refuse to sell him and force to sit with the fans every match instead of playing so he can get f***ing mobbed.
  24. Suppose Nolan is our backup option for M'Bia, and Taylor is our backup option for Ebondo?
