Matter of expectations really. He covered Lennon pretty effectively for most of the game except for two instances in which Lennon got past him. You could see that as failing to mark him properly him on two separate occasions, both of which could have cost us dearly. You could also see that as having contained him well enough most of the time. Considering that Lennon is probably one of the best in the Premiership at skinning his man (thank God his end product is so poor,) I'm willing to cut Jose some slack and go with the latter.

The fundamental reasons behind this thread still hasn't changed. I still don't think Kinnear is a good manager and I think the vast majority here would agree that he's not somebody we want long term. But I can't be bothered to talk about anything negative today, so fuck it. Howay the lads.

IMO he was THAT bad. While he was here I had zero confidence of us beating anybody, plus we played a 'style' of Football that was nothing short of painful to watch. He's the only manager ever to make me not look forward to watching the match! Don't agree for a second that he was a victim of anything either, apart from his own ignorance maybe. So well done Mike Ashley for getting rid of him? Yes. The only bad thing about that decision was that he didn't get rid of him the moment he assumed control of the club. The fact that he went against conventional wisdom to get rid of Big Sam ASAP is pretty much the last shred of evidence I have to believe that Ashley cared about the club at all beyond reselling for a profit.
