  1. We've finally gone above West Ham now, which is crucial. I think we can rely on them to start going to the Blackburn school of sinking without a trace.
  2. Still want him out, for the record We're above City now. Madness.
  3. Why? So he can track back and provide some extra cover on Kranjcar. And why do we need that? Joe Kinnear school of thinking there. Trying to protect a 2 goal lead at home against Stoke with 45 minutes left is idiocy. Trying to protect a 2 goal lead away against Portsmouth with 10 minutes left is pragmatism.

  5. Think Martins has pulled a stomach muscle. Maybe we'll get to see Shola starting again next week!
  6. I get filled with unspeakable dread every time I see Campbell and Distain running up to the box for a corner.
  7. neither side doing anything of note really. ...Oooh Owen, almost

Whoever thought we'd end up missing "Glen Roeder refuses to use injuries as an excuse."
  9. That actually makes a lot of sense.

Zico's just signed on with FC Bunyodkor, the Uzbek equivalent of Chelsea.
  11. He'd be a mammoth signing because he'd most likely improve one of the weakest areas in the team and could prevent Butt from starting every game - which ultimately could keep us in the Premiership. Decent passer of the ball, good free kick taker, proven in the Premiership, right age/experience level to come in and do an immediate job - sort of signing that could turn us into a decent side even though the player himself might not be top draw. Must be a good chance of that move happening too because 1) we'll be offering more wages than tiny Fulham can afford, 2) this might be his only chance to move to a club with the potential/facilities/resources to be in Europe in the next few years by which time his career will be over, 3) he'll be playing with better players than he's surrounded by at Fulham, and 4) if we do get relegated even with him in the side then chances are he'd easily get a move back to a lower mid table Premiership side. Fulham would defend him tooth and nail though. I imagine we'd have to pay them 8m or some other large amount that he's not worth to even have a sniff. Any player we bid for in January will most likely be at an inflated price if they're in the first team elsewhere. Bullard being in the England squad will also automatically add a few million onto his value. The only real saving grace is that at his age, Fulham might be tempted to cash in on a reasonable offer. Maybe we could offer Alan Smith in the other direction? That should add about 2m to his price.

We ended up with Joe because the job was being offered on a temporary basis. How many currently unemployed managers do you think will refuse a permanent contract at a Premiership club, regardless of that club's position on the table?

Wrong. no he is right. If I have to explain this again I'll start sounding as boring as NE5 so I won't. But if you think there's literally nobody better than Joe Kinnear who would be willing to manage our football club given a reasonable length contract, then you really need to take off your shit-tinted glasses.

The Enrique quote is the most abominable thing I've seen any football manager do. Ever. And that's including the South Korean bloke who got sacked for physically assaulting his assistant last year.
  17. Kinnear you fucking, fucking, fucking idiot. Just oh my God. FUCK YOU.
  18. (I know he's not, btw) Alright, so by all indications, Ashley no longer expects to sell the club. Talk of a sale has cooled, he's given Kinnear a longer contract, and there's even rumors of transfer money being handed out. But despite strong evidence, we can't actually know that any of this is true because Ashley and Llambias (who's so silent he can't even be called a mouthpiece) have seemingly dropped off the face of the Earth. Why the f*** has there been no club statement about our ownership status. I don't even expect anything as long as his 20-page "I'm selling" expose, nor do I expect himn to sit in the stands again. I'll settle for something as simple as a statement saying "Owner Mike Ashley would like to confirm that he is staying at Newcastle United for the foreseeable future, and is fully committed to operating and supporting the club." I think there are a lot of fans out there who would be willing to forgive him if he came out and said he wanted forgiveness. And I for one would certainly be less uneasy about our current predicament if I knew that the people at the top still gave a s*** and weren't just warming the seats for the next owners.
