  1. Hopefully he goes off on another one of his completely random goal every two games runs and keeps us up. Still has no long term future here.
  2. Kinnear to invite Rob Styles and Graham Poll over to SJP for a "chat"

    Man City

As I've mentioned in the match thread, I still can't figure out what Jo is supposed to be good at.
  4. I'd criticize the decision to put him on more than I would his performance. I mean really, 2-1 with 10 minutes to go and you put on a kid just getting back from long-term injury? Is he really better than our new 6m striker? ffs, could have even just put on another defender to close the game down even.
  5. he's done realy well if you ask me. Even aside from the goal, doing some good work roughing up City's defense and creating some space. Of course, he still doesn't know how to play football.
  6. The way our crazy world works, he'll probably get a hat trick.
  7. Time to come out in the second half with ten-men behind the ball playing for a draw with some old-fashioned Big Sam style tactics. Really have to stand up and applaud the lads for how they've done so far under very averse conditions. Kinnear seems to have gotten some steel in them.
  8. No matter how much I watch him I'm not sure what Jo is supposed to be good at.
  9. You can hardly complain about the performance. How long has it been since we've seen Ameobi splitting the defense with a killer pass and Duff getting a shot on goal?
  10. We're making a fight of it at least. Hopefully if nothing else this game will establish a siege mentality and make the players come together as a team.
  11. At least the lads are putting some fight into it. Duff may be mediocre most of the time, but nobody in the side works harder.
  12. If there's any justice in the world we'll somehow hold on for 90 minutes and then score a jammy equalizer off a deflection in the 90th minute. There isn't, of course.
  13. commentator on Setanta almost as angry as we are, can't stop talking about the pen.
  14. f***ing s***. What a c*** of a ref. I knew it was a bad call the minute he blew the whistle. A defender of Beye's caliber just doesn't make crazy challenges like that.
  15. Pretty much nonesense that like. No, for some people that's exactly how they'll react. They already hate him so whatever he does they will put a bad spin on it. We all do it, it's human nature (see also discussions about Taylor, Milner, Shepherd etc etc). Maybe some idiot with two brain cells[/b[ would react like that, but nobody with the slightest sense of logic would. So like, 4/5 the population of this board?
  16. Like people have said, this is the worst possible time to judge a defender. He's got undeniable quality and I believe it will shine through eventually. You don't get to play for Argentina at the World Cup by being a shit defender.
  17. funny how, given all the talk about fraudulent nigerians, it turned out to be the respectable south african bid that was bullshit! Both of them are likely to be bullshit IMO, it'll be someone we've never heard of who hasn't done a running commentary all the way through the deal. I'm starting to fear the worst case scenario: there's actually nobody interested.
  18. The "he left us in the shit because he loves us theory." Besides, Ramos is Spanish. That's the way clubs work where he comes from.
  19. Even though I rate Keegan very highly as a manager, I really, really don't want him back. What I want in this club is stability, and Kevin Keegan is the last man on Earth that's going to give us that. We all know exactly what's going to happen the first time the new new board and "King Kev" disagree.
  20. Source or Link? ZENIT, Advocaat could leave at the end of the year 22.08.2008 00.10 by Eddy Akoglu read 987 Latest rumours from Russia are suggesting that Ducth coach Dick Advocaat could leave Zenit St.Petersburg at the end of 2008. Advocaat is apparently sought after by Liverpool and Middlesbrough. Moreover, the harsh St.Petersburg cold weather seems to be too much to bear for Advocaat and his wife. Most importantly, the working relationship between the Dutchman and Zenit has recently worsened due to the fact that no top quality players were signed by the club officials despite Advocaat's request to do so. It really seems that Advocaat (affectionately nicknamed "Little General") will leave Russia soon http://www.transfermarketweb.com/?action=read&idsel=23267 Dutch media reporting he wants to leave in November. Yes please would have him Brilliant manager. His tactics for us at WC 2006 made him look like the Dutch Sam Allardyce though. Granted, that may be more down to the lack of quality in the South Korean NT than his own tactical preferences. Haven't seen much of how his Zenit teams play.
  21. I'd personally love it if Keane came here. Won't happen though. So would I, so i don't have to hear another chorus of "Keano, he wanks his dog..." Keane is probably the manager I disklikes most. Would never want him here. People think Shearer isn't cut out for the job but they'd take Keane?
