this time last year? the one before that?
-
Saw that a few days ago, one of my all time favourite players and was really hoping to see him in the Champs league this year. Anyway thats the same club that wanted to bring Etoo, Rivaldo said the offer was just too good to turn down so i can only imagine how much their paying him. Fuck, does that mean I might get to see Rivaldo in next years' Asian Champions League matches?

You know who's really bricking it now? Leeds fans. Depending on how large the clause is, we might even give them enough money to get promoted. I figure I'm just going to relax and enjoy the ride on this one.

Turned it into a 07-08 Newcastle post. Thought that sounded vaguely familiar.
-
They see 30 second MOTD highlights, we see 90 minutes of the slowest stepovers since my attempt in 5 a side ten years ago. Tiny part of me is bricking it. "Shit, we couldn't possibly be swindling other clubs on transfer fees. He's going to turn into Ronaldo within a year!"
-
So they could end up paying around £13 million for Milner and Smith. Wow. Wow. That could make me buy an Everton season ticket. Just out of pure gratitude.
-
whichever of them that gets him for 10 mil is my new second-favorite club.

KA-CHING!!!! :colo: :snod:

I remember reading posts on an Everton forum a while back. They seemed to have some sort of irrational hatred for you lot (similiar to the hatred you lot have for us). How dare you! Our hatred for Spurs is VERY rational.
-
who have we ever stolen from them again?
-
Smith being a world-beater at Leeds is one of the biggest myths in modern football tbh. He looked "promising" at best. You know how bad it is? "Smith at Leeds" is actually a commonly used phrase here in Korea. Refers to anyone who was good at something a few years ago but is absolute shit now. No, I'm not joking.

Considering the current regime's track record so far with "never heard of him" players, I'm willing to trust their judgement on this. Although naturally we'd still need more signings. Not even clear that we're in for him though, agent might just be holding Everton ransom.
-
If it's Larsson v. nothing I would take Larsson. Just about sums up my feelings.
-
Wiki says he plays RB as well, so I suppose he could be cover for Beye. Obviously would be disappointing if he was our only signing.
-
sounds like another Bassong-esque youngster.
-
ahgghghg! He's f***ing messing with everyone man!!! There is no advanced talks with Spurs! I'd honestly rather have Milner. Lennon is that bad.
-
that's great. we could buy Lee Dong-Gook to partner him and have the most hillariously useless attack in the Premiership.
-
Hey, if we're willing to give Viduka a chance, why not. Could be this season's Sibierski, but naturally, I"d prefer we look elsewhere.
-
not a bad draw for Ketsbia. Poor Bate... Whoever they are
-
damn, Zenit are fucked.

cripes, Chelsea sweeping all the awards so far

Hmmm, Terry wins that over Ferdinand how?
-
well, he was when he was at Leeds. Presumably thats why Alex Ferguson bought him too ? Anyway, I hope you aren't suggesting the club actually buys players based on how they have performed at previous and/or current clubs He had a run when Keegan came in and Oba was in the ACN and Dukes was injured and did absolutley tosh. The only time he had a remotely dcent game was when he played in front of the back 4 against arsenal I think and was literally just told to tackle. I also recall that he had a good game up front alongside Martins where a lot of people mentioned in post-match comments that "Smith-Martins" should be our first-choice pairing. (I'd dredge up the thread but I'm afraid that I might have been one of them. )

If this actualy happens I will strip naked and run onto the pitch at the next home game I go to.

depends on how many games he plays this season to be honest. and how many goals he scrores. Regardless of how good he is, we can't have a player who only plays roughly half the games every season be a major part of our payroll. Additionally, he'll be 34 in 2009, making him even slower and less fit than he already is. (I realize that movement isn't a big part of his game, but still.) Probably be more prone to niggly injuries too. Unless he scores 30 goals this season, no to a new contract. err, so what if he bagged 15-20?? its impossible to say at this minute wether he should o shouldnt be given a new contract. It will hav to be decided after 20 games or so. He won't PLAY 20 games, so this may be difficult. I wasn't serious when I said 30 goals, it's not like that'll happen anyway. Just saying that it would take a minor miracle to convince me that he should be resigned
