This is what I'm hearing, but that its going to be more of a case of Shearer/Houllier. With those two, surely they'd have a bust up within six months and things would go to hell again.
-
Why? Both are out of form. One was arguably in the top ten strikers of the world when he was in form. The other was a decent player for a relegated side.

the best in my opinion agreed To me, Hiddink is hands down the best manager in the world. My nationality biases me a bit, but still, I would trust him unconditionally any day. If at all possible should snap him up right now when he's not in club management, although the Russians probably wouldn't take kindly to anyone poaching him before Euros. The man likes to things over all else: money and a challenge. We can give him both. Mort would be crazy to not have at leats pitched the job to him. EDIT: only on 2.4 USD a year apparently! We can double that. Hell, we can quad that.

kingdawson and Martin Jol are more fun.

Offside does matter. If there's a deflection or the ball pings around, someone can knock it in from a yard away. I've always wondered why teams don't have some kind of strategy on walls. Why not just half of them jump? Can't you have someone lying on the ground behind the wall, so when the rest jumps, he's lying there covering in case it's a low one? Probably since a person's body would only cover about 1/3 the wall. But what if you had a skilled acrobat preforming rapid forward and backwards rolls along the wall? ...Or you could just use Peter Crouch

No,Jose Mourinho doesnt have an official website. The only way for you to find him is through his agent or going to his house. Therefore, the plan is for all of us to dress up as terminal 10 yr olds and march in front of his house, claiming that our dying wish is for him to manage Newcastle.
-
Our fans would probably give him about two seconds. Maybe less. I just checked, he's only 34! Just a year older than Butt.
-
apparently signed for Milan and lining up 25m pounds for Drogba, according to the French media. Ancelotti out the door and headed to either Barca or the Italian national job. All baseless rumor, of course.
-
Just out of curiosity, were there people screaming "sell Shearer! He's past it!" On these boards around say... 02/03?
-
Knows the club, big match experience, currently unemployed... http://www.carling.com/media/player_images/player-image-15240.jpg

I don't think anybody here would argue that he's not a good manager, it's just a matter of fit. Allardyce has already proven that the obsessive-compulisve tinkerer style who requires absolute obedience from his players doesn't work with NUFC. We need somebody who can win back the dressing room, bring things back to basics, and give the players some freedom.
-
Considering that we're looking for a "long term" manager, Hitzfeld and Houllier are both a bit old for the job aern't they? Granted, same age as Redknapp, but that's why I think we shouldn't have been looking at him in the first place.

This is very unfair to Big Sam though. Everyone has an opinion. SBR knowing that Geremi's legs are gone is just like SAF knowing Mclaren will make a very good manager. If Big Sam signs a player, I trust that he has all the information he needs. He may have made the wrong judgement, but I don't think one could fault him for lack of homework. It was Mourinho that told SBR that Geremi's legs had gone - SBR told the club.. If Allardyce was still stupid enough to sign him he deserves all the criticism he gets. Judging by the fact that he mentions that this was before Ashley bought the club, I assume that Sir Bob's less than amicable relationship with Shepherd and co. meant that club employees were instructed not to listen to any advice he gives. I would be surprised if his words ever reached Allardyce's ears.
-
Well, judging by the reaction here at least this interview seems like a brilliant coup for Ashley. I agree with previous posters. Fuck logic, Fuck practicality. Lets get behind this man and whoever he appoints. honest question: is SSR Invicta Toon in disguise?
-
Sir Bobby seems to be the one person the plague of negativity in this club cannot touch. People were perfectly willing to get negative about shearer, legend in his own right, when he was being talked about for manager. But one word from Sir Bobby and Shearer for the toon becomes respectable again.
-
jesus, all the parts of the squad that are broken and people choose to constantly abuse the one man who has been a bright light for us for nearly a decade now. Just shameful, f****** shameful.
-
The distinction of British and foreign is completely immaterial, what we need is a good, experienced manager. As long as he's that, his nationality doesn't matter. The sad fact being that we're unlikely to get one, regardless of whether we go domestic or foreign.
-
The tension inside the ground is going to be unbelievable. It will stifle the players. We need all the luck in the world next week just to scramble through. Just got to hope that they are on a bit of a downer post-Anelka Who sucks more? Bolton, who were horrible in the first place and just sold their only way of winning? or us, who've got no manager, no morale, and no plan? As for the relegation battle, I can see us realistically getting sucked into it if we fail to get a manager and are forced to have Pearson as interim until the end of the season.
-
Completely the opposite. The boo brigade can't seem to wait to jump on Given every fucking time we concede. Even when he's the only thing that's kept the scoreline level for 50 minutes.
-
No mention of Given's s*** clearance i see,... The blame starts and ends at the person who created the calamity. If Cacapa hoofs it, Enrique doesn't have to pass back and Given doesn't have to clear under pressure. Simple fact. Completely agree. Should never have been in that situation in the first place. No reason to pass it back to Enrique.
-
Are the fans chanting "Big Sam's Black and White Army?" o_0
-
OWEN! WHY! Jesus what's happened to this man.
-
Cacapa's and Given both at fault, Cacapa for back passing it under pressure, and Given for hitting it straight at him! WHY?
-
How could Given have saved that? First of all he had no way of anticipating that Ronaldo would try to ground it, and it also took a deflection off Milner's foot. It's miraculous that he even got a hand on it. Oh, and there's the second goal. Fuck.
-
i'm afraid it is Aye, we literally have no attack. It's just a matter of how much we're embarassed. Might as well get Viduka on and try.
