  1. To think I was smiling just a few hours ago, looking at flights to Glasgow. Just thinking about that brought a tear to my eye.
  2. I'm seriously starting to think there's some sort of Irish connection on the squad that's forcing Roeder to keep picking Carr and Duff when they're so obviously s****, like what the Brazilian's supposedly have in Barca. (Then again, they can actually play football.) Is it Shay using his clout to look out for his mates you think? Just a conspiracy, but I think it's possible.
  3. These Spurs fans deserve to get banned just for replying to this ****ing topic post-match and bringing it to the top of the list. Seriously, how long are we going to tolerate rampant WUMs like this on our board?
  4. Aye, there's nowt we can do about it and tonight has set in stone for me the fact that it's a complete waste of time spilling your guts about an NUFC performance on a message board. If people feel that strongly about things then we should be taking some sort of action, no matter on what sort of level, to do something that makes a difference. It's a complete waste to whinge and moan after every single bad performance from a football team, other than to get things off your chest. I'm all for debating why things are happening and why things go wrong, but to be anything other than frustrated about it is starting to feel daft. I do appreciate that people need an outlet, though, but the apathy is starting to strangle me. Funny, that's exactly why I post here. If I wanted deep, engaging debate, I'd be going to class. Nothing wrong with some general ranting and commiserating after such a miserable night. Isn't that the whole point of reaching out to other fans?

    Emre

Indeed. This anti-Parker bullshit is beyond a joke now. I'm actually amazed that it took this long for people to stake the blame on Parker. If you thought the worst thing on our pitch today was Scott Parker, you're either blind or just going out of your way to piss on the captain of your own club. Well, at least the Parker-haters are consistent. More than I can say for NUFC.

    Roeder Out

I understand that no high-profile managers want to come here, which is why I used to think that we might as well trust Roeder, since he's what we're stuck with. But not anymore. ANYONE would be better than Roeder. ****, Fat Fred stepping up as Chairman/Manager would be ****ing better than Roeder. I don't care if you have to make Clarkie caretaker. Just get him out the door. We don't need to go looking for an awsome replacement who wil take us back to the top 4. Just run out and find any random competent bloke.

    Emre

best player we had on the pitch by a mile and a half. why he ever, ever gets to take deadballs over solano I'll never know though. He's been skying them all season.

Most of our squad is ****. ****ing ashamed to be supporting this ****ing group of ****s with their **** manager. The whole world can just **** off for all I care. **** **** **** **** **** **** **** football.

    Record Smashed

I'm not even sure what sort of twisted pleasure he garners from posting this here and getting his a** kicked. Masochist much?
  11. There was some talk that the prize money was funded by the moonies, if I recall correctly It's not just talk. The moonies do front the prize money for the competition. In fact, they're also the main sponsor for Sungnam Ilhwa, one of the teams in the competition and arguably the most successful club in Korea.
  12. If they want teams to play attacking football and not "play for the draw," a much simpler solution would to not give any points a tall for a draw. Either that or raise a win to 4~5 points. I wonder why this hasn't been tried yet.
  13. You honestly Believe this? I mean, honestly?
  14. It does seem that the Liverpool squad has improved bounds in two years time, and it happened so unobtrousively that hardly anyone noticed. I do still think that Liverpool lacks the critical mass of truly world-class players they need to seriously challenge for the title though. I'd go as far as to say that they're one Steven Gerrard away from being no better than Bolton or an in-form Cockney Mackems. Villa would shake things up, but unless they get a silly money injection, I don't think they'll be challenging for the title anytime in the immediate future.

    Moore

If he cared the slightest bit about NUFC would be a canny player tbh. Has proven himself to be a solid leader of the defense on the international level. Just couldn't give a **** about us. I've said it before, but it's just unfortunate how many Australian players have really blossomed after Hiddink's tenure, while Moore just turned his preformance levels back down to where they used to be once he took off his yellow shirt.
  16. From what I've seen of him he's got some decent technique and is much, much stronger than Crouch is. More of a Koller than a Crouch really. 8 million isn't a bad price for him, although I don't think we should be spending 8 mil for ANY striker this summer. Long ball isn't necessarily a bad thing. Heck, if we had this bloke, I think it'd work quite well.

    Antonio Cassano

Would rather try to work Luque back into the squad than go anywhere near Cassano ...God this is going to start up another Luque thread isn't it?

    Right-backs

When I think of Glen johnson, all I can think of is how he broke his hand punching a wall in frustration when he wasn't getting games in Chelsea. Has to be the funniest injury in the history of the Premiership.

    Pre-season

I'm gutted for the obvious reasons, but what do you think? Think Freddy and Glenn are underestimating the sort of cash they could make on an Asia tour. Aside from the fact that the Peace Cup organizers are filthy rich, just expanding into the Asia market in general surely couldn't be a bad idea. On the other hand, I suppose it could be too much of a strain on the lads if we end up in the intertoto again. EDIT: Oh snap, didn't notice this thread
  20. In 2 years we could have... New RB New CB Taylor New LB Milner Emre Parker Zog Martins Owen Which, depending on the quality of the new defenders, would be a pretty darn good team. Definitely top 6 if not top 4 material. (Assuming Milner, Zog, and Taylor don't go wrecking their careers) Then again, there is a LOT of "if"s involved in that scenario
  21. True, but I must imagine he would be quite useless and unexciting on a team without other halfway decent attackers to support him (i.e: us)
  22. West Ham: Reo-Coker, Ashton, Benayoun, Upson Charlton: Young, maybe Bent (but not for the 32942903482094823094 pounds that charlton will probably demand) Watford: I don't know... Jay Demerit? Might take a punt on Marlon King if he comes cheap
  23. When Martins learns to anticipate and how to use his pace effectively, he will more than likely be in a Chelsea shirt, unfortunately. Still, I'm enjoying him while he lasts. The downfalls in his game are more than made up by the sheer energy and excitement he brings to our side. Can you imagine where we'd be and how unfun we'd be to watch right now if we had say... Kuyt instead of Martins?
  24. Aye, that's the intended effect lol
  25. I'm honestly stunned by how positive the reaction is. I expected "OMGLOLKNEEJERKYOUKNOWNOHTINGABOUTFOOTBALLSCREWOFF" Guess this just shows how much Titus has been contributing lately.
