The one time alnwick decides not to come out and punch
-
We just had to go and make it interesting
-
It's been a while since we've had a 5-0 spanking. I'll go for that.
-
Ben Arfa's fallen out with pretty much every manager he's ever worked with. They can't all be Pardew.

It's at least exciting getting to see some new faces -
Guy's had a lot of bad luck with shit managers but at the end of the day it's his own fault that he's underachieved massively despite having as much natural talent as any footballer in the past fifteen years.

Srnicek in the one game he played during his second spell in the 06-07 season -
Super-small sample size so it probably doesn't matter, but the trend seems to be that stability results not in higher league position but rather in more consistent league position.
-
Pardew seems to like him so everybody hates him, that's it really. He's a fine, average Premiership standard defender. The next Steven Taylor. (Hopefully sans injuries)
-
Might as well accept that he's here forever. We'll see the back of him when Ashley sells up.
-
We've had this conversation before, but if he does win us a cup I'd find it immensely difficult to carry on hating him.
-
No one's doing that, they're doing it based on a submitted appeal that includes witness and professional accounts. That's a lazy post, Oldtype. Okay, there is a decent summary of relevant facts in this appeal filing. Post amended to "trying to argue whether a goal was offside or not based off nothing but the match report."
-
None of us have access to the full slate of evidence. Twelve people (or whatever number juries have in England) who did thought he was guilty. It's inherently pointless to question the decision based on a bunch of rumors/hearsay/conjecture. It's like trying to argue whether a goal was offside or not based off nothing but BBC text updates.

I'm of two minds as to whether he should be allowed to play again. On the one hand I'd find it very hard to support my team if it had a convicted rapist on it. On the other, the whole point of jailing people is to have them rehabilitate and rejoin society. How do we achieve that if we decide that certain offenders should never be allowed to do anything of import even after serving their time?
-
The man is a convicted rapist and we certainly shouldn't be casting aspersions over the validity of that conviction based on facts we know very little about. Whether he should be allowed to return to his trade after serving his time is a separate question.

http://www.theguardian.com/global-development/2014/nov/07/north-koreans-working-state-sponsored-slaves-qatar How fucking low can these guys get -
We're doing well enough that I've allowed myself to forget that he exists. Probably the highest praise I can offer.
-
Huge shame. I feel terrible for him. It does mean we'll get to see more of Sammy and Aarons starting, which can only be a good thing. (Think of the transfer fees!)
-
Think he'll eventually end up at CB and become the next version of Steven Taylor.
-
If I was supporting a club that actually wins these things on a regular basis, why would I even give a shit? I imagine you'll be cheering for the other team if we make the finals? Because if we win a cup, Pardew is never, ever leaving.

I would happily accept ten more years of Pardew in exchange for a trophy That would take me up to 48. 10 years is a fucking long time for a (poxy) League Cup tbh. Not happening anyway. Beat Spurs and you've got chelsea, Liverpool or Soton over 2 legs and then a final against another one of them at Wembley. We did well tonight, no arguments, but it doesn't even begin to paper over the cracks we'e all seen over the last 2 years. You'd be 48 but you'd have seen a trophy in your lifetime. How many nufc fans past, present, or future could claim that? I'd do it without a second thought. Would you rather have Pardew plus a fluked trophy or Keegan's trophy-less Entertainers? I wasn't around for the entertainers so I probably have no idea what I'm doing, but Pardew plus the fluked trophy all the way I don't even know what to say to this. Glory supporting might be more your thing if trophy's are all you care about. I'd understand this sort of attitude if this was a ten year drought or something. It's been thirty five years since our last trophy. The last time we won anything domestically Stalin was still in power. Most likely we won't even see a trophy in our lifetime. Of course I'd take ten years of shit for a league cup win. Especially since we're pretty likely to be shit regardless anyway.
